    Great details and shaves Joe!

Wow! Gorgeous Jim. I love polished razors, but that’s off the chart polished. Can’t wait for the images.

:) I’d show all my $68 -$72 orders I’ve done since your enabling started....and just be embarrassed. :bounce015:

Clint, if you haven't yet placed a PAA order yet, then this plan doesn't quite apply. The best thing for you is to place a relatively large order so that you now have enough points to get a discount on the next order. After this initial order, you can follow the plan outlined above.

Just trying to be helpful and save everyone money. :)

Great report, Bill! I know it shouldn't be, but it's amazing to me just how different one shavette can be from another.

Great report, shave, and photos, Joe. You and Bill are giving me inspiration to give the shavette another shot this summer ;)

You are welcome, Tim! I have a thread in the Straight Razor Section of TSD under the heading of Straight Razor and Shavette Guide for Newbies. On that thread, I and some other members have given sound advice on helping novices get better results with their straight/shavette shaves.

Very nice shave, Neal! I wouldn't worry about hurricanes this time of the year. Besides, you are too far west and north to really be affected by hurricanes.

Tim, I have two shavettes: a Parker SRX and a Feather Artist Club SS. I'll pick one and do a month-long focus with you this summer. My last focus with the SRX lasted between 60 and 70 shaves. You'll gain a lot of proficiency in 30 days with this group helping you and cheering you on.

Besides...with all the old guys already using shavettes and straights...I'm sure a couple of young bucks like you and me wielding them will provide a nice change of pace. We still have our hair and sense of humor, not to mention excellent hand / eye coordination. :D

Tim, the same can be true with different straights that have the same grind and width.

Sounds a lot like a if-you-don't-like-the weather-just-wait-a-while kind of place--hopefully no hurricane, though.

    Great shave report, and photos!

Nice shave, Czar! I probably had the Piccolo in my cart 11 times over the past couple of months but still haven't pulled the trigger on it. I hear the later ones are not nearly as aggressive as the earlier ones, so that makes it less desirable to me. I'd love to find one of the earlier ones just to have something really different in my rotation.

The weather was a bit woolly here today too...plenty of wind (nothing serious) accompanied by steady rain. It's been warm enough here the past few days that we've had the screen door open and the ceiling fans running. I'm listening to the waves coming in off the Gulf now, and it is very relaxing. We haven't turned on the heat or the a/c since we've been here. We're looking at a good chance of rain with temps in the 60s and 70s the next few days. I'll take it for January. Spending March and/or April in Minnesota is gonna be a different story, I'm sure.

We've got our first group of friends coming to see us tomorrow. They plan to stay with us until someone gets mad. With my mouth running all the time, they may be leaving on Monday. :)

I was going to offer to join in with a SR(x) focus but then I got disqualified. I lost my hair before I turned 30. Thanks Charlie, I didn't want to do it anyway. :lyrtuy5:
