Terrific picture, Joseph! Great write up; I had never considered the fact that bowl lathering will naturally incorporate more air, even though it makes perfect sense.

    January 12 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Red Tip
    Blade: Voskhod
    Brush: Grizzly Bay Winter
    Lather: PAA Et Tu
    Aftershave: PAA Et Tu
    Additional Care:
    PAA Mysteriun Serum

A two pass DFS this morning with one of my favorite DE razors, the Red Tip. This soap is a dupe of Brut, but not quite as sweet as the current rendition, at least to my nose. A nice dose of the Essence of Man feels great on a Sunday morning. I hope everyone has a great day!

The Occam’s DE is one terrific safety razor. When used with a Feather blade it really can’t be beat! This morning I decided to use one of my preferred shaving soaps, Wholly Kaw King of Oud. The indescribable scent that wafted from the slick, glistening lather whipped up with Jayaruh’s Custom Boar is truly transporting. It brought back my traveling days and the Market in Marrakech. The shave was relaxing, and pleasant with minimal, if any, blade feel, and mimicked my first exposure to this razor - two passes for the face, and one and a half for the dome. I feel clean, smooooth and revitalized this morning.

    RAZOR: Occam’s DE
    BLADE: Feather
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap
SOAP: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Royall Lyme AS Splash

Thank you, Joe. I can't explain it, but some soaps simply create larger bubbles and less of the micro-foam.

Mos def© Patrick. The most recent reformulation was the downfall of a once terrific soap.

And our first projection of the survey-Brand New In 2020 will not come away with the W here. But he shouldn't be upset as he still has a chance to escape the cellar.

Nice shave, Jim. I have always been intrigued by Et Tu.
