I decided to shave my 30 hr stubble very late in case I am called in to sub tomorrow. Rocky brush did a great job lathering the Stirling into a nice wet lather. I have been keeling my brushes wetter than usual because I really like a wet lather vs a voluminous one. I get better results because the razor really glides well. Did 2 passes for BBS on cheeks and almost BBS on neck. The neck has few invisible hairs that I feel, but it looks BBS. Did reopen my weeper on my stache area and got another, albeit a very tiny one on the opposite side of the stache. There wasn't any irritation so it was a very comfortable shave. Topped off the shave with the matching after shave and the Nivea. I really like this Bay Rum scent because it puts me in a nice mood. Have a great Monday, guys! 20200112_231019.jpg 20200112_231019.jpg

A very nice shave, Joe. Stirling Bay Rum is a very pleasant scent.

Another Great shavette report, Joe. I really enjoyed the sample of Bay Rum that I ordered from Stirling... my wife, not so much. It's shameful. How can a person claim to be a wet shaver, but not have a classic bay rum scent?

Very interesting so far. I'm not sure I've ever even seen a soap company boast of their ability to hold up to hot water, to be honest.

Thanks, Tim! It might be the cloves that she finds objectionable. I know there are some Bay Rum AS that don't have the cloves. I wore it to work last year and one of the teachers commented that something smells like medicine. Needless to say, I didn't wear it to work.

    Good morning everyone!
A little menthol, my Dime razor and off I go.
Did a small amount of work on it last night, this seemed to help. Still, not a brush hog by no means, but a good shaver. I did 2 passes on the face, some touch up, 2 passes on the head, some touch up. This is a mild razor, but unlike other mild razors it doesn't do the scraping like you would expect. Just hold the blade so it does its job, and shave. I'm certain this razor wouldn't last long compaired to more modern ones, pat 1907. But it does get the job done. Besides, if you didn't get a satisfactory shave, the instructions say to just return it, you'll get your dime back.

I put the blade in after cleaning, so you can tell how it looks ready to go.

I'm clean and ready for the day.
    All
    Enjoy!

    Edit.....
    Sorry.
    No issues, none!

If you factor in inflation , that razor would probably cost 50 bucks these days since the price of everything skyrocketed. I'm going to try using a snowmobile exhaust spring to make one since I am in the land of ice and snow . Awesome shave again Terry and I love seeing that razor being used and not sitting on a shelf or in a drawer.
Edit : I searched this razor and seen where one sold for $35.97 in auction back in 2011. My guess wasnt too far off.

    Nice gear there Jim!
