    I think I'll pass on the risk of permanent, disfiguring burns... and likely a higher risk for face cancer.

    In times long past, there were many things in common use that were harmful. People didn't know they were harmful, however. Unhealthy diets, tobacco use, radiation, carbon tetrachloride, radium paint (when ingested), lead paint, and many other things. People simply did not know they were unhealthy. Sixty years ago, people dying in their 50s and early 60s was considered a normal death from old age.
