you are on the right path..soldier on..:).when i started here i had never used an open comb razor,i completed a tech focus and an oc focus.shaves are so much easier and consistently good.just the repetition alone made a huge difference..

That's a pretty good suggestion--I just may do that.

very cool,as for time constraints, well,i love it here so much i get up half hour earlier every morning to post my shave before work..i could be obsessed though;).my shaves were lasting 20-30 minutes at first, now down to 10-15 depending on set up-cream ,face lather soap etc.but it took time.cool part is i don't rush for anyone.it's my time .frame of mind.life gets in the way sometimes but ..:)

I don't know, I've seen a few you have that I don't. It may be Blair and I cheering you on.

I really like the Flare Tip. Funny story, I gave one to a friend who was using a DE89 earlier this year. He also reported that the Super Speed gave him a better shave. I don't think the mild razors give a more comfortable shave. I tend to press harder and end up with more irritation with mild razors.

Thanks Joe . I am enjoying it too. Reminds me of my first 2 months on here . Went DE then shavette second month. Was alot of learning involved and we are all never too old for that .

Yes! Once the technique is learned I found I dont have that urge to press a bit more with the milder razors . But on the other hand I prefer lots of blade gap and still get comfortable shaves . Great point made Evan!

Well, glad you had a good shave Jason! We're suppose to get dumped on tonight. We already told our teams to work from home if the roads are bad. I get more done from the office so we'll see. I don't really want to work from home tomorrow. The kids don't have school...

I am way behind with no hope of catching up but I have two shaves to report.

Thursday I decided no soap test would be complete without Arko. I woke up late so I used my Joris DE loaded with Sharp Star blade and turned on the kettle. Arko performed well but it was drying out quickly in the scuttle and I had to keep adding water. The slickness was good but over not as good as using it in warm water.

    Sorry no pic

Friday shave: TOBS with warm water and the hot water test will be tomorrow. A tradition British cream with British cream performance and scent. Since it is TGIF I went with some bling, Ed Brice 6/8 half hollow. A very enjoyable shave.

Sadly I got started with a disposable twin blade Bic before Gillette cleaned out my wallet for the next 30 years . Got a drawer full of handles here for every cart they made .
