    Razor: PAA Prismatic
    Blade: Voskhod
    Brush: PAA Starcraft
    Lather: PAA Atomic Pumpkin
    Aftershave: PAA Atomic Pumpkin

This one is pretty easy to describe. It is just like a Starbucks pumpkin spice scent with a good dose of vanilla on the open followed quickly by a base of Atomic Age Bay Rum. A nice fun scent, and as @jluc said about I Gingerbread Man above, maybe not a choice for a formal event, but fun to wear on normal days. I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Why does my Rex Ambassador dislike me? My Gibbs #17 Adjustable easily meets my dual criterion (cf face AND head shave proven) even with its short handle. In fact, the handle is shorter and the razor lighter than the Rex which is modeled after it! Clearly, a tool can’t harbor negative feelings. So there must be some aspect of my technique that’s the problem. I’m going to spend the next couple of shaves focusing on the Rex.
The shave today was relatively uneventful. The MWF provided its usual comfortable cushion and the Gibbs delivered a two pass DFS without incident. One point of departure between the original and its homage is that the head design is different with respect to blade exposure and cap curvature. The Gibbs has a neutral blade exposure while the Rex appears very slightly positive, at least on my particular model. Curvature on the cap is flatter than the Rex as well. That may be why a 6 on the Gibbs does provide more efficiency without a corresponding increase in aggression. Both head and face shaves on the Gibbs were completed on setting 6 leaving me feeling quite smooth. If I attempted the same setting on the Rex, I’d end up scalping myself. I can handle a face shave on the maximum setting on both razors. It’s the rear of the dome where the rubber hits the road, or in my case, the blade my scalp. I’ve always shaved the back of my head ATG in one pass. It works fine with the Gibbs, never an issue. Every time I’ve used the Rex in the same fashion it bites. This happens even on a lower setting. The Rex gets four more chances, this time WTG or XTG. If it continues to bite, it goes!

    RAZOR: Gibbs Adjustable #17
    BLADE: Feather
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Ariana & Evans Post-Shave Serum

    Thanks, Jim!

I'm still not picking up the Bay Rum. I'll see how it changes through the day.
    Excellent picture!

Atomic Pumpkin is my favorite of the PAA Holiday scents.

    Nice shave Jeff!
    Interesting????
Maybe you need to uh ride the cap more??
I don't have one of those razors, but I've noticed some I do have, require more cap than others.
A focus is always a good thing!
    Go for it!
    Good luck!

Great shave with the Gibbs, Jeff!

Some of the earlier Ambassadors had issues. They pretty much had them ironed out on the N2 and later. Good luck!

    Lovely looking shave, Terry!

Quick question: how does removing the spline improve the shave for the MMOC? Always on the look out for tips and tricks with that razor ;)

Sorry, Terry--should have just read a little further.

More aggressive? Scares me, but I just may try that to see if I truly have got the upper hand on the MMOC. :D

Wonderful shave report Jeff. I find the Rex Ambassador to be the least intuitive razor I have tried. I don't recall a really bad shave with the Ambassador but I don't recall super smooth and easy shave with the razor.

Moving a little slow this morning just enjoying a lazy Saturday. At least I got my shower and shave in before noon. The CC Bay Rum shave cream was a gift from the ladies. I found it very easy to lather with a fantastic scent. I do wish the scent was stronger. Performance wise, the cream is middle of the road. I can say that it rinses clean and doesn't leave the razor and sink with a white coating like Proraso. Removed the spine of a new Gem PTFE blade. This Genesis is a V2 but doesn't require the any further modes to blade. Three easy passes and the baby is in the house. A splash CC Bay Rum aftershave and I am ready for a relaxing lazy day. I hope everyone has a Great Saturday.
