Sounds wonderful! I'm not really that familiar with Proraso products, but the Red is a sandalwood based scent, is it not? In my book, you can't go too far wrong when you're centered around sandalwood

 

This thing loves my wife and has identified me as a rival. It gets jealous when we hug and struts his stuff trying to show how big and strong he is. Have you ever been threatened by a 4 oz bird. It's hilarious.

Anyway, I actually like the bird way more than I thought I would. He's a fun pet. I did a lot of dominance exercises with him (basically me showing him I'm the big bird) so he submits to me as the alpha male. He has something like 250 things he'll say and tricks he'll perform. My favorite is when he challenges me for my wife's attention.

To add to the fun, he'll be upset with my wife when she gets home and then will get all clingy insisting on being in the same room for a while. He's calling out for her as I write this.

 

It's funny. I appreciate fine looking things, and I absolutely love keeping up with this thread just to see all the gorgeous gear everybody uses, but I personally prefer my own gear on the dull-ish side. Couldn't tell you why, just wired differently, I guess (or perhaps I'm just afraid my kids are going to wreck it).

 

Your problem, Evan, is that at some point in time you left her with the impression that you are competent. You should have pulled a Homer Simpson: "Wait, Marge! What do the kids eat again? Poison?" Now, to keep it from happening again, you're gonna have to blow something up

Yes. Floral sweet sandalwood. Italian barbershopy...if you will. Close to ToBS sandalwood, but it leans sweeter. Proraso maybe a touch darker, deeper. Fragrantica not much help, as it’s an aftershave product

i prefer to use my more common regular stuff than the really cool razors i have as well.i save the aristocrats and others for special shaves on weekends..

Dont be upset with him. Just walk back and forth in front of him with skewers in hand and I'm sure he'll come around . He will probably rat you out tomorrow to the wife but tomorrow's another day. Tonight is all about peace and quiet.

 

i have read somewhere that proraso red is straight up raw sandalwood..no other flavours added like most others.the arden sandalwood for men is an ok match

 

I heard there is a famous wetshaver in the Atlanta area who manages similar circumstances with alcohol lubricated internet shave gear shopping sprees.
