    Soap - Soap Commander Courage

Cold and windy day today but no ice, snow or other nastiness. I call that a win! As for tonight's shave - I call that a win too! Another round with the Gillette 18 OT and Rapira SS blade. Soap Commander - which now shows the ring of death! I'm getting there. I used the hyrid boar/badger brush and it feels awesome. Fantastic lather for a three pass beauty of a shave that finished BBS. No worries or problems at all. Makes for a great Saturday and we still have Sunday to go for the weekend! Make it a great one.

    timabababaluka No exceptions. Except.....

That is a beautiful set up, and a nice way to start the day ready-for-action. When I become an empty-nester (approximately infinity years from now), I will lay everything out for the next day, but for now--I take no chances--my only routine is keep everything out of sight or risk never seeing it again. Everything goes in here:
    20200118_182240_2.jpg

The only exception is my brush (which I hang from my 1800's San Francisco era bordello-pink ceiling:
    20200118_181606_2.jpg

And a Greek yogurt cup that I use to rinse of my razor during shaves (water equals food and jobs in central California, so I try to conserve). I ditched the mug years ago so I would no longer have to deal with the jarring 'clank, clank, clank' sounds at 5:00 in the a.m.

The Thayer's, on the other hand, I quit using the day I first brought home an aftershave splash, but my wife occasionally uses it (and it's a convenient place to dry my face-pulling cloth).

All the aforementioned items are literally within arms reach from the sink, so I can get a quick jump on shaving.

Still, I do envy the Zen-like experience of slowly setting everything in its place in anticipation of the next day's shave. Some day... ;)

Well, I do have close to 20lbs of gun powder in the basement. It's safe to store that stuff in the furnace room, right? I'll call my wife and ask. She'll know. I fed the girls cinnamon rolls and twix bars for dinner so we're good there. Back to rearranging the reloading room.

Edit: The cinnamon rolls and twix bars is a true story. I didn't intend for that to happen but I didn't stop it either. My girls take advantage of me all the time. They know I have a soft spot for them and their cute girly ways. This is why I shouldn't be left in charge.

Thanks and you are correct. H is the aggressive plates, R is regular or middle of the road and M is the mild plates. 1 is solid bar and 2 is open comb. I don't have any of M plates but I have complete sets of the R and H plates in aluminum and stainless steel. Stay warm Patrick!

Thanks for sharing, Tim. The wife and I are empty nesters other than having the granddogs over most weekends.
I use witch hazel twice a day, after I shave and before bed after I wash my face.
Good for you doing your part conserving water.
