Sunday shave, Had to try a recent purchase in 2019 of a Schick injector J1 with some NOS platinum injector blades.
Some times you luck out with a nice razor when you buy on _bay with out it in your hand to feel weight and some other unknowns. Great shave!

Razor : Schick injector J1 type- MFG 1957-64
    Blade: Schick Platinum NOS (3)
    Soap: Barrister & Mann Seville
Brush : Yaqi Rainbow with brown whiskers 26mm
Pre-shave: Brush wash the face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: Alum + cold water rise.
Post shave : Razorock Amici A.S with witch hazel + Nivea balm.
Results :9/10 or CCS,DFS,BsS + alum indicated minimal irritation + 1 blemish weeper = [IMG]

I do owe this Razor an apology , as in the last Shave report I was rather scathing about its performance. It would appear that I was using a spoiled blade as I previously had not got the blade located securely on its rather shallow blade retaining pins/lugs so it was misaligned during the Shave.

Before a Shave you have to be doubly sure that the blade is correctly locked and secured on the IMHO to shallow retention pegs/lugs.

With a fresh Blade the Shave though not the quickest was very smooth and comfortable with a very good close all round finish. Looks like this recent Razor Purchase is good after all , providing the operator gets it right.

    Cold Water Rinse
    Fine Snake Bite Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #383
    RazoRock Black Hawk
    Feather Professional
    CWR
    Osage Rub

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Fine Snake Bite Shaving Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #383 2-band Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the RazoRock Black Hawk razor with a Feather Professional blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I love how so many of your shaves are color coordinated. Great picture and a beautiful razor BTW.

MMMonday for myself today, I really like this razor and it will deliver a DFS range most of the time. Winter is hard on my skin this time of the year with our river frozen solid (lost our humidity creator) in the month of Jan with temperatures in the the minus -20 to -30 degrees Celsius or -15 degrees F average with my indoor Humidity gauge reading 33-36. My skin is dry along with dryer tougher whiskers to shave IMO. But the Gem Micromatic Flying wing or MMBT or Guiding eye..... did it's job with one of the greatest Blades known to man.

Razor : Gem MicroMatic Flying wing or MMBT or MM guiding eye...- MFG 1947-50
Blade: GEM Personna SS PTFE (9)
Soap : Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandal wood (TOBS)(Very nice scent)
    Brush : Razorock Plissoft
Pre-shave : Brush wash the face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: Proraso Red Sandal wood lotion with witch hazel + Nivea balm.
    Results :CCS,DFS,BbS + no irritation + no weepers= [IMG]

As I suspected this razor is the same as an E1 but it isn't. The spring is the difference in how the shave feels. Apparently the squared spring holds the razor head together more securely so it doesn't chatter and is more efficient than aggressive. They are identical otherwise in how they shave and end result. Not quite a BBS finish but better than at least 90% of the razors I've used. I think the other moveable spring is more aggressive not because of head geometry change but the change in the lather guard. Going to a single channel when the spring exerts force on the razor head it is now spread about differently and most likely even less securely making it even more aggressive.

To summarize that in less words the moveable spring E2 razors have a floating head. The E1 probably has the same problem with excessive usage over time.

Thank you. I have a somewhat colorful collection, so why not coordinate them. To be honest, sometimes that's the deciding factor for what gear and product I use for the night, and this includes the shaves that I don't photograph.

I try to do the same. I even tried to color coordinate blade packaging during No Repeat November.
