Another one that I've only heard about, but never actually seen. Gotta read up on that and see what it's all about.
I've really enjoyed following Jim and Jim's reports on the PAA soaps and splashes in the 30DC this month. Fascinating scent profiles, but a bit out of my orbit.
The PAA aftershaves are out of mine, too, but I would like to make another soap purchase at some time...no hurry.
You get where I'm coming from then--I'm willing to sacrifice scents I like in order to grab 3 that can cover just about anything. Out of curiosity, does the Stephan's Bay Rum focus more on the 'bay' in bay rum? My only experience with bay rum was Stirling's (which I really liked), but it was too clove-y for my wife's taste.
Perhaps a little more focus on "Bay". I've always liked how the ingredients appear equally mixed. Some clove, but you don't get much of it. Your wife may go for Stephan's. Also it feels real good on the face&neck..especially in these cold periods.
It's been a while but I can tell you Stephans has no clove whatsoever (to my nose), which is a plus. Good stuff cheap!
Several good ones have been mentioned that meet your criteria. Old Spice Brut Florida Water British Sterling I might add English Leather Pinaud Vanilla Ya know, it’s a lot easier without limits...
I have a bit of an addiction but given your stated boundaries here goes. Fine L'Orange Noir Fine Santal Absolut Fine American Blend These three pretty well cover the scent wheel with an alcohol based aftershave with longevity of a cologne or EDP.
I do like it, yes. I put a little more on today, and immediately felt the difference. More of the tobacco scent showed up, but so did the Vanilla. It's a great one to use in the winter.
Everyone does love that one. I'll try it with different soaps, like TSE Lumberjack next time. But it's great with Gillette Foamy Magnificent Goo.
I like what I'm hearing about Stephen's, and would love to get a bay rum that gets the go-ahead from The Missus. Thanks, gentlemen
