    Same old, same old.
    Friday
morning in the Hampton Inn. Breakfast...:signs002:
I will say their coffee is drinkable. The bagels are the "bread" type, meaning they haven't been boiled.
The eggs are the "not sure" type, meaning they are mos def© NOT free range and freshly made.
The rest of the fair holds even less interest for me, so that's that.
The shave, however, does interest me, because I really enjoy Proraso products,
in spite of the fact that, except for a tiny sample of the "wood and spice" cream, I have only
used the "green" line of products. One of my very first products I ever purchased was a tub of
the green shave soap. I haven't replaced it and I won't, but it certainly led me towards
    the proverbial rabbit hole.
The cream is stupendous. It makes an excellent travel product, but I use it at home as well.
It's one of my all-time favorite scents.
The lather doesn't acquire the same sheen as some other high-end soaps, but
the slickness is every bit as good. The menthol of the aftershave, mixed with the
uber-refreshing Eucalyptus is killer. It's masculine; crisp and clean.
I must say that open blades have sullied my love of the AS-D2. I still think
it's a well-made razor, but, and I never thought that I would say this,
I long for more "blade-feel". There, I said it.
Hope everyone has a great day and a better weekend.

This soap was developed in collaboration with a fire fighter, and it shows a bit. There is a lovely opening note of jasmine, apricot, and smoke. This just seems to jump out, but then a little chocolate works it's way in, which adds a level of complexity. Behind all of this is a woodiness that comes from some oud shows through with just nice bit of Bay scent. It is a terrific scent with a lot going on. It seems that chocolate adds some nice complexity to just about any scent, and it is definitely true here. The shave itself was two passes for a DFS. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Good morning

Wow what a wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Feint tickle from the alum.

Hot scuttle again today. Still didn't get it quite right in the scuttle. I had to paint in some additional hot water to get the consistency I was looking for, but oh the decadence of a hot lather!

Malbolge up for today. I love this scent. Jim's @Norcalnewb description yesterday along with the one from the website will give a much better sense of the scent than I ever could.

    From PAA:

Malbolge is teeming with woody and aromatic accords while a subtle undercurrent of sweetness flows alive underneath. A scent so enchanting it has to be up to something clever!
Blood Orange and Bergamot bleed like electricity into a beating heart note of Black Pepper and Benzoin Resin along with Licorice (Star Anise) and Burnt Sugar. All this set against a backdrop of base notes like Patchouli, Dark Musk & Tobacco.
This classic Autumn blend is perfect for men looking for just a touch of something different this Fall Season...though I bet you reach for it all year long!

    Happy Friday! [IMG]

Another outing with the PAA scuttle. 180 degrees for inside compartment and the bowl today. PAA's CK-6 formula overloaded in the boar knot, bowl lathering results thin & bubbly with plenty of volume. Moving to the face, lather transforms instantly to thick slick rich warm smelling goodness. Jason's handle with the broken in 10098 knot is so much fun to use. It's huge, covers almost an entire cheek while face lathering, a little backbone but so soft (no scritchy). 1 WTG pass, 1 XTG pass, then opposite X stroke for the cheeks, and ATG buffing on lower neck. BBS results, zero drama. Vector still loaded with the Feather AC Pro glided effortlessly, never harsh or irritating. Lost count of the number of shaves on this blade, still shaving smooth though. Quick application of Star Jelly followed with a favorite ASB.....PAA's Gondolier.

Hope everyone has a Fantastic Friday!

This poor old retired statistician is frankly awed by the quality of the scent descriptions that percolate around here. They’re downright poetic! I guess I spent too many years measuring things coupled with the fact that I don’t have the best sense of smell to be able to even understand what folks are referencing. But keep them coming, and I’ll keep lathering up with my beloved MWF, the perfect soap for the nasally challenged! Great razor porn shot! Keep ‘me coming, Jim!

Lovely Vector shave report, Blair! I don’t need a kettle...I don’t need a kettle! I had my first shave with a new razor today which was every bit as smooth as my Vector! I’ll have to wait a few days to chase the BBS. Still recovering from my scrap with my misaligned Rex, currently wending its way back to Phoenix for repair. Love those Boars! Great shave report!
