Awesome report, Jim! The addition of pineapple to a Bay Rum seems almost natural, somehow (when you hear somebody mention it), and yet I wouldn't have come up with it in a million years. The Pineapple top notes in Stirling's Executive Man are some of my favorite parts of that scent, and they, too, fade pretty quickly.

Beautiful photo, and dat brush...! :D

Great shave report, Clint! Lovely scent descriptions! You are teaching the deaf to hear a bit in my case!

Great shave report on the differences between the two shavettes. Sounds like you like your new Parker! Enjoy your shaves, Joe!

    Thanks Clint.

We will have to talk about this Jeff.
    Thanks Blair.

Thanks Andrew. It was perfect once I applied it to my face.

    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - SS & AS/C - Kirimati
Wild West Brushworks - 2 band badger
    ABCo 7/8 Near Wedge

3 pass DFS. Lots of fun overloading the WWB badger today, made a scuttle of overflowing lather. No warm trials today, just getting it done, some catch up honey do's in the works. Nice thick PAA CK-6 slickness from a new to me aroma (enablers @jluc and @Norcalnewb). This ABCo 7/8 straight is highly polished stainless steel, some really cool tang design done with layered paint. This straight is very quiet while shaving with it's near wedge grind...actually similar in shave/face feel to my neon green Drew Dick straight, but without the smiling blade. Finished the morning routine out with lightly mentholated PAA Star Jelly, followed with the matching Kirimati AS/C.

My nose isn't nearly as detailed as @Norcalnewb with his descriptions.....but I'll give it a whirl (while also looking at PAA's scent explanation). Definitely a very nice Frankincense & Myrhh combination, with a good follow on from Bay Leaves (there are actually 2 in the bottle). After that, I get the woodsy resin (like you'd have on your fingers after handling a spruce pine tree). Can slightly pick out the sweet coming from the Tobacco and Lavender. The other ingredients I'm not familiar with....so they elude my nose. I should add that Kirimati got a HUGE thumbs up double take smell approval from wifey. I can also tell this will be a long lasting aroma over the course of a day.

    PAA's Scent Notes: Frankincense - Myrhh - Bay - Seaweed - Oakwood - Ambergris - Benzoin - Blue Spruce - Tobacco - Labdanum - Lavender

Hope everyone has a Sensational Saturday!

Thank you, Clint! I actually like it quite a bit. It isn't a complex scent, but I really find myself liking Sandalwood. This is almost like a blend of Proraso and Stirling Sandalwood scents.

Great shave report, Terry! Your Nickname on the forum should be ‘Razor McGyver’. You’ve accumulated an incredibly exotic razor collection on the qt. I really admire the way you so pragmatically disassemble, rebuild/modify your shaving tools without a second thought!

Beautiful set up and photo, Jim. I've often toyed with the idea of getting a kamisori style shavette, but just opted for a folder instead.

I believe it was just yesterday that I wished for more blade feel.
Well, be careful what you wish for...
See that circled area above? Well, I am here to tell you, that it can puncture skin.

Broke out the styptic and it would not stop. Now, I didn't need an ambulance, but usually
a styptic pencil will stop the blood-letting. Not today.
I still have the bloodied piece of tissue on my cheek.
Wore it to the BMV, USPS and the grocery.
SWMBO hopes it will be gone when I pick her up later.
In another example of irony, what's the name of my razor :signs002:
Oh, yeah, Detroit National CUT Co. :signs136:
Other than that, all is well. :)
    Have a great weekend.

Crud! That was one of the first things I was going to comment on when I read your post--kudos on having the guts and ability to make those modifications (I usually only have one of those two requirements at any given time). Nice execution, too--the razor actually looks like it was made that way :D
