  1. Another beautifully epic set up and shave :D
  2. Not sure Jim but I can honestly say I never been that bloodied from shaving before . Possibly a rough blade . Ric Flair would have been proud of all that blood . Woooo
  3. Great shave.

    Love the brush.
I don't need more brushes, but just in case, where do we place orders.
  4. Oh man Patrick. Sorry it was a shave gone wrong. Hope everything heals up and the next one goes better!
  5. Wow Patrick! Now that's epic... heal quickly. That red stuff is supposed to stay on the inside. :)
  6. I've used that razor many times before without a nick. The AS sure calmed the bleeding in a hurry. I'm leaning towards a bad blade being the cause.
  7. I usually go flat and rock the blade in. I have also tried to stay with longer continuous strokes..... Except once this week when I got binked for being sloppy.
  8. Great googly moogly! The last time I got that cut up one of my kids got hold of my razor and was slicing little bits of paper and plastic with it--who got a hold of yours?

But seriously, sorry you had such a rough shave (and incredibly rough aftershave). I hope the next one treats you better, Patrick :)
  9. Wow. That’s rough Patrick.

  10. Well.... that was a rough one for sure.
  11. Hey Bill, could you elaborate on this when it works for you? I’m envisioning two movements and/or landings that could fit this description. Don’t want to assume I know which you are explaining. Thanks!
  12. Thanks guys . Sure hoping the next one goes a bit smoother .
  13. Nice shave Joe! Glad you like that Parker.
  14. Nice shave Blair! PAA...
  15. fine set up and pic Keith..

    Razor - 1946-47 Gillette Aristocrat

It's Saturday night. Not Friday night. I didn't make it here on Friday. Long day and night and all that. But I'm here now. On Saturday. Missed me, didn't you. Switched razors for the Gillette Aristocrat today. Oh, and I didn't shave last night so there's two days growth to deal with. A fresh Sharp Star should take care of that. The Aristocrat is an excellent razor, a bit on the mild side but still very effective. It had no trouble dealing with the two day beard once its owner got the angle right. I'm too used to the more aggressive razors now, I guess. Just takes a few strokes to dial in that perfect angle on a bit narrower gap. Still working on the Soap Commander. Ring of death growing bit by bit and the JR46 helped with that. Fine lather, better than fine razor and best blade. Results? Perfection. Have a great Sunday!!

  17. Perfection indeed Neal!
  18. ouch Patrick..what happened?.punky blade?.cool set up and pic..
  19. Thanks Bill! It's nice knowing you'd at least be tempted. I'm sure I will PIF a few brush handles some time in the future. Honestly I want to try my hand at steel razor handles first. Maybe even case hardened nickel plated handles...
  20. Yes I think it was Gary.
