    January 26 SOTD:

    Razor: Karve Christopher Bradley
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Thater 4125/4
    Lather: PAA Black Bot
    Aftershave: PAA Black Bot

This scent is a dupe of Black Belt, which I have never smelled. It is another Musk, and one that honestly set me down the Musk path. Lavender and bergamot jump out at first and take notice. The Musk follows behind with a slight amount of cedar mixed in. After it is on the skin for a while, the Musk dries down into a bit of an amber/powder scent. This one does call for a bit of caution on application, as it is easy to overdo it, but it got SWMBOSOA (©️ @Primotenore).

I got the shave in before church, and now my wife is getting ready to host a baby shower. My son and I are going to duck out and head to the local golf course to see if we can donate a few balls to the trees. I hope everyone has a great day!
  2. Sounds like an awesome scent Jim! Smart man for ducking out . Even smarter for ducking out to hit the links .
  3. Hope you had fun Myles! See you on the next shave . Enjoy your weekend.

  5. Great shave, Tim! You could also just get a bottle of Cool Reserve from Barrister and Mann. I’ve used both Epsilon and RazoRock Blue and chose the RazoRock. The scent was better to me between those two. The big bottle of Epsilon is a really good deal though.
  6. Ah! Your perks of youth have stirred up my memories of long ago.

Yea well.... I've learned he's not a real team kinda guy. Mother in law is just the opposite, happy go lucky kind. So.....

    Yea Jason.
I've set a few guys up too.
The wife wanted me to show him my adventures in shaving tools.
The mother in law said she liked the sent. That's how it all got started, I most certainly did not bring it up.
    Thanks

    Thanks Jim!
  10. Hey, you can still have fun. Your never too old for fun. You just gotta "make" time not "find" time for it. There's gotta be a balance in life of work and fun. you only have one life here on earth. Make the best of it.
  11. Thank you Jason.

  14. Fantastic recap and photo Jim. Have fun with your son.

  15. Great shave, Jim! Hope Golf went well. I stayed home today while SWMBO attended a service my stepson was playing drums for. The church was a little too New Agey for this boring old Congregationalist.
  16. Yet another great picture and report, Jim!
    Have fun golfing!

    Shavette Shave #128
    Parker SRB
    Rockwell DE 1/2 Blade (2)
    C-Mon 77-4 Heritage Collection SHD
Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS
    Nivea ASB
This C-mon Badger is beautiful and does a fantastic job loading the soap with very little effort. Face-lathering with this brush is pleasurable. Of course, Stirling doesn't disappoint in performance. This Bay Rum scent is clovey, but it has a sweet note to balance it. It really is a wonderful scent. This is my second shave with the Parker shavette and quite honestly, I was on autopilot. This was an awesome shave. In 2.5 passes, I was just shy of a full BBS, so I guess that I would say it was an IBSS++. I have to say doing a fool's pass (ATG on moustache area) is easier than if I had used my Dovo shavette. Did get a tiny weep in that area, but cold water and light touch with the styptic knocked it out. Irritation wasn't evident. Liberally, applied the Bay Rum aftershave to enjoy the burn. Topped the shave with the Nivea aftershave balm. I will be using the Parker shavette for the next 2 shaves to tighten up my technique with it. Have a great Sunday, guys! 20200125_174557.jpg 20200125_174557.jpg
