Beautiful kit, Keith, as usual! Are those ebony scales on the razor?

Good Monday, start of the work week, for most anyway.
Used some neglected tools and scents.
My 1914 Ever Ready with a new Personna GEM blade. Some say getting a comfortable shave with this little razor is near impossible, I beg to differ. Ride the cap, keeping a light touch gives great results. I will say, if you move the razor to riding the gard, things can get nasty. The sandalwood is as good as it gets. I didn't find any sandalwood witch hazel, how'd I miss that, not sure. Gonna get on that this week.

I'm clean, smooth, ready for the day.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Will be reading along today, things are getting near warmer weather, March is closer and closer. One more month and .....

    Enjoy!

Great shave report, Terry! The 1912 has always been a good razor for me as well. Enjoy your week!

Excellent shave, Terry! At first, I was meh with Stirling's Sandalwood, but it grew on me during my recent 30 consecutive same straight razor and setup challenge.

An outdoorsman scent to be sure of.
Stirling is stronger than most. Me I'm good with it.

I heard that Art of Shaving's Sandalwood is top shelf. However, the price tag turns me off.

    Good morning

Wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. I used the alum this morning but the wife and I were talking. I don't remember what it did, I wasn't paying attention. Couldn't have had much to say.

Porthos up for today. It's an Aramis dupe. I don't recall ever smelling Aramis so I can't compare but this is a lovely scent.

    From PAA:

Scent Profile: Dry Woods/Leathery/Classical/Masculine. A Chypre masterpiece.
Top notes: of Artemisia (wormwood), Aldehydes, Bergamot, Gardenia, Green Note, Cinnamon, Cumin. Middle notes: of Clary Sage, Patchouli, Orris, Vetiver, Sandalwood. Base notes: of Leather, Oakmoss, Castoreum, Amber, Musk, Tobacco.

    Have a great week! [IMG]

This is day two of the noggin recovery plan. Since I was only doing a face shave, I broke out the NOS LeCoq Cage Head. This is an aggressively efficient shaver and requires careful handling to avoid it’s bite. The Wholly Kaw King of Oud has a luxurious scent and always provides a thick protective lather which in this case was welcomed. Yours truly rode the cap very carefully using short j-curve strokes through that first pass. The PAA Cube Preshave did its job well allowing the LeCoq to do its job as well, mowing down the whiskers allowing for an incredibly close WTG first pass. So close, in fact, that my second pass required only some very careful selective ATG buffing in my regular trouble spots along the underside of my jaw, around the Adam’s apple and just behind and under the ears. A check with the alum block and my hand revealed no heat and some very slight roughness remaining around the Adam’s apple. Rather than tempt fate, I chose to end this short, delightful technical shave, and happily settled for the near BBS result. My face feels smooth, clean and refreshed.

    RAZOR: LeCoq Cage Head
    BLADE: Suneko
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Cube Preshave Soap
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
SOAP: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH.

    Great shave and photo Terry.

Beautiful lineup and photo Jim. The brush is neutral enough that it is coordinating with the shave lineups quite nicely.

    Beautiful razor and shave Jeff.

Monday again. Weekends are just not long enough. The Thater synthetic ate through the soap whipping up a wonderful rich slick lather. The cooling effect was an added bonus. This soap is on the way out with the circle of death expanding. Three easy passes followed by touch ups along my jaw line and buffing the neck ended in a smooth drama free BBS shave. I hope everyone has great Monday.
