1. Got thinking...
How can I fix a new handle on the Schick razor ??
    Well....

Got some stuff needed to fix it up.
An old Bic razor and some epoxy.
The Schick head is clean and ready.

Sawed off the head of the bic, used a knife to clean up the end.

Mixed up the epoxy, stuffed it in the cut end. Took a screwdriver while holding the cut end, packed the epoxy down from the other end.
Then pressed in the razor head.
Held it till it set up a few moments.
    A little cleaning.

Wait 24 hours, I'll use it then.

  4. I think you really need to do that razor some justice. Have you seen the wooden handle that @Jayaruh can make for a Schick?

  5. Yes, and I have one of his handles for a lather catcher.
The schick razor cost nothing, a few bucks.
So it wasn't worth an expensive handel.
    To me anyway.
    thanks

  6. I'd make some little balls of the epoxy stick and pack them into the handle just to add some support. Those handles will crack in a second.

  7. Why? Why? Why?

If we were Amish you would be shunned!

  8. Razor syncretism.
    Most unorthodox.
You’ve taken all dignity from that humble injector.

I’m afraid I must look away.

Think I'll call it my "Scalawag".
    Fitting ah!

  13. If you or someone you know has some brass rifle cases, it's also an option. Thirty caliber ones work the best, just have to do a little reshaping to make it fit into the neck of the case. 30-06 cases will keep the handle length original. Plus it'll match the brass head and look nice all polished up. Any amount of weight can be added if it's wanted. I even made one with a 30-30 case for a smaller travel razor. On the one below, I used a 300 Winchester Magnum case to make it slightly longer.

  14. That's very nice and I could us some empty cartridges that I don't reload.
    But that's been done already.

I'm glad that the group here figured out what I should be shaving with in the morning.....

My G8 with the Scalawag handle!

  16. Don't worry to much....
Whoever had this one wasn't as caring as us about the tool.
I just made it useable again.

  18. The handle has two cracks. And while normally I'd just epoxy the ends on, This time I'm looking for a normal ball end handle to cut down and use that.

  19. Looks great, but I think a flat handle like the original one is more convenient and provides with a better control. I wish some DE razors had flat handles, especially one-piece ones.
