British Service set NEW flat bottom w/ pre war Tech handle. This razor setup is quite similar in shaving characteristics of the Pre War Tech. I find this setup to be one of the better razors I've used. Two pass shave, touch up on the chin / BBS. I don't recall but the Nacet blade has no less than 4 shaves on it. Nice razor and the Tech handle works very well on the New.
Thank You Gary, you got that right on the "awesome" shave. You couldn't ask more from a shave than what I got here.
very cool Mac..i often wonder if the people that bought these razors new had the same thoughts and experiences..
Efficient and smooth, cuts good yet easy on the face. Of course you have to have the skills. As far as the first owners to ever shave with these? I'll bet they felt the same way as we do. I'd bet..
i would as well....they are a blade holder after all, but they present the edge well..and well built..
Yet we have the advantage over them even though they got to shave with a new New. Our razor blades are better. Remember, there wasn't a decent blade until the late 50's. Although I'm sure there were some crafty craftsman back then who could hone a blade as well as a straight razor.
fair enough..i have never tried the old blue blades.but love the gillette spoilers and wilkinson sword from the 70s..i have scrounged up a few packs ..the gillette blue box platinums seem to last and shave like the spoilers..
They do for me as well. I'll have 5 razors loaded and ready to shave, and those 5 razors with fresh blades go the month and then I throw them out regardless of how well they shave. Who knows, they might go 6 months for all I know.

A Gillette (most likely) Probak. One of the best Gillette razors that most collectors don't associate with Gillette. The razor is so good it forced Gillette's hand on a merger in the favor of Autostrop and Henry Gaisman.
No, no I've shown this razor many times before, don't use it too much. Thanks for the compliment! Sent from my SM-T387V using Tapatalk
