Wonderful photo and shave report Jim.

Excellent shave report as usual Joseph. I enjoy reading your recaps daily. Great picture as well.

    Great shave and report Tim.

Very cool looking razor Terry. Congrats.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I have one of these razors too and I have tried to like it. I've never felt like I had a truly smooth shave with it and....like you....I found it tends to leave blood in its wake. Mine sits quietly in my shaving case waiting to see if I ever want to try it again.
I usually end up contemplating what happened afterwards.

Nice shave, Tim! At least you don't have to explain a lopsided shave to your fellow faculty members and students.

If yesterday's shave was fantastic, then today's would be a let down. Yesterday was the 3rd use of the Feather blade so I loaded a fresh Feather in the razor and dialed it up from 2.5 to 3. I didn't think there would be much difference. Again me thinking might not be a good idea. The 3 pass shave was relatively smooth and ended in a BBS but I had so many weepers I looked like a human pin cushion. I will take it as my fault. Hoping tomorrow's shave is better. Off to lunch with my wife. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

And good morning to you Charlie....well that was clever, following up my Bill Neumann question with the Al Neumann quote. My sister and I had subscriptions to MAD when we were kids. Compared to today's kind of "humor" we see(mostly cynical, I'm afraid), Al takes the cake. Course that was in a different time period. Course us here at TSD all have decent senses of humor, somewhere in between cynical and Al, but leaning heavily toward the Magazine Man. (Did I just say us all??? Where's my proper langwidge???)

Whenever I do a bad post, I just add something silly to it, like xf;dlf;; then delete the whole thing. My post to YOU is not bad, of course :).

Saponificio Varesino SS & AS - Felce Aromatica
    Heritage Collections - Ever-Ready 200 clone w/HMW Badger
    Rex Ambassador (4 & 1.5)
    Treet Platinum Super Stainless

Quick Report....busy family day. Oldest daughter performing with Dallas Youth Symphony Orchestra mid afternoon, then more family activities out and about.

Everything worked as expected, great slick/thick fragrant lather from the HC HMW badger, 3 pass DFS+ from the Rex loaded with the Treet Platinum. 1 chin 'redness' area, more shaving the top of a skin imperfection a little close, than a true weeper. Followed with SV FA after shave....delivered yesterday. My version resembles a glycerin/aloe consistency, clear, and matches the SS aroma perfectly. The SV products definitely have a great face feel, still a nice feeling 3 hours later. Only wish that SV FA had the aroma longevity of other artisan/manufacturer's products, it is one you'd like to catch whiffs of all day!

Hope everyone has a Fantastic Sunday!

And....here's an image of my Citizen chronograph eco-drive from 2011. It saw hard daily (ab)use for 3+ years, and it shows. It's been through pins breaking, leather bands worn out, skidding across pavement, hundreds of door knob hits, being drenched in oil and various detritus while working on vehicles/atvs/trailers, falling off bicycles/skateboards, yard work, scraped through dirt/gravel (low angle motorsport photography), you name it, probably happened to it. I rarely remember to take a watch off. Image is quite revealing....but truth be told from a foot or more away, it's still a great looking time piece. This is the original band.....it was put away after a couple months, just put it back on recently as I was getting this guy back up and running.
