ahh, ignore the email then

 

okay, by and large I like Google

the web search is great
many folks love the browser, I didn't like it, it was slower than Firefox, Opera and IE, but many swear by it
I have a few things in google docs (the rest in Zoho)
I occasionally use gmail
google earth and maps are frequently used by me
tons of other features

all FREE!

but, they don't earn a dime from us
they do earn some from ads, but when you read about the way they run their business, there's no way I can fathom they make that much from ad revenue
some of their features are a little scary to me...I've never at all felt comfortable with google desktop, I uninstall it everytime I see it (main reason it slows our slow machines down)

and all the controversy with the gov't checking the google searches to check up on us...

has me wondering....slightly conspiritorily, I'm sure, but still....am I the only one that can use their imagination and see something potentially very unnerving here?
or do I need to put my tinfoil hat back on?

 

what a good husband I am, I have the kids at work with me, helping me clean computers, so my wife can sleep in a little, and go to texarkana to take care of a few things


of course, with the extra two sets of hands, naturally everything is taking 3X longer than normal :ashamed001

Someone should make a web-based interactive dictionary page maker. You could upload the image of your choice, write the definition, and it would fill in the page with words that belong on either side of it.

I think I enjoyed the scene changes more than the rest of the show. They certainly use some interesting building techniques and a good deal of simple mechanics to make those sets unfold quickly. the effects to pull off the magic were pretty good as well and not over the top.

Daughter and Wife really enjoyed the show (other than the kids in front and next to us were a pain). I might have liked it better if I hadn't grown up with the movie. Too many tune/lyric changes for me. I know, the movie Mary Poppins wasn't the original, but it is what I grew up with.

Brilliant... I feel like letting the kiddo watch Enchanted for some reason....

And now for something completely different

okay, gonna be in Grapevine and Dallas this weekend, but unfortunately won't have any time for looking for antique stores or such....so I will have to be sure and pack a razor - Micah, call me Wednesday night or Thursday morning to make sure happy097:happy097

eeewwww. I don't want to own Tony Stewart's sweaty towel. I've got plenty of clean ones at home. Heck, he can borrow one if he'll promise to bring it back. And the bidding's up to $730. We're willing to buy this junk and we have to wonder why we have financial problems?

just messing with you not many in Grapevine. There is a nice Bass Pro Shop down the round from you and if you want a break from the water the Gaylord Texan is pretty cool to walk around in ....please tell me what you think of Great Wolf Lodge, been thinking of taking the kiddos there.

 

we're going based on someone else's recommendation, actually.
It's expensive, but besides a family reunion in Mobile in a few weeks, it's the closest thing to a vacation we'll have...yippee
just the kind of vacation I like - congested traffic, lots of people, driving in a city I don't know, bleh bleh bleh....why can't we just stay at home and relax, honey?!?!?!
dang, "vacation" time is going to be busier than being at work! that's exactly opposite!!!
oh well, I'll stop ranting

I imagine we'll end up at Bass Pro Shops, and Rainforest Cafe (is it still there?), and also a trip to the Dallas World Aquarium (went a few years ago, it won out over the zoo again just for the fact it's air conditioned )

 

you know, I actually just commented to my wife after the race Saturday night that I'd like a couple of those towels, then I see that auction and laughed...no, I will not be buying one of those, but would like to find some new, clean, not-highly marked up ones though
