Given our common faves, I doubt that will be a problem Perry. Haven’t had a single Fine product I haven’t enjoyed yet.

Well, shut my mouth! You are a Shaker! I knew that you have an extensive safety razor collection and maybe that is why I don't remember you using one.

Yes, it is a good razor for headshaves. It also does a fine job on the face, but the razor is not as aggressive as i would like it to be. I need to work a little harder to get BBS shave. The real selling point of the Shake Sharp is that it is next to impossible to cut yourself with it.

Yes, he posted his pic of one of his shaves with a Shake Sharp. I just don't remember it. It may be that it wasn't on my radar and that's why I didn't remember him using one.

That's the problem with having so many, it can be long stretches between uses. First world problems!

Continuing day three of Hell Week (Personna Blue blade 1st shaves) in my Dead Is Dead showdown. Another Razorock steps up to the plate... The RR German 37 Slant!

    Week 1 Gear
    • Brush: Kong
    • Soap: Soap Commander "Drive"
    • Blade: Personna Blue (1st shave--"The Blood-letter")
    • AS: Clubman Original
    • Balm: Nivea Sensitive Cooling

    The German 37 Slant
I shaved with the Razorock German 37 for a year or so and really enjoyed it. This was my one and only slant, and while it was a great shaver, it wasn't the miracle razor that would end all my shaving woes in one fell swoop. I have since discovered that all of my shaving woes are me-related rather than razor related. It's a shame really--I prefer to blame the razors. Razorock makes some pretty solid razors for an exceptional price. Is the finish perfect? No. But I still think this is a beautiful razor that performs admirably. I only stopped shaving with this because I thought an adjustable razor would fix all my problems. **spoiler alert: it didn't**

1st pass, WTG, was a lot like yesterday; the sweet spot was easy for me to find, and the razor's weight does all the heavy lifting for you. 2nd pass, XTG, was very comfortable and intuitive. 3rd pass, ATG, went just fine with no bloodloss or drama. A cold water splash, Remaining lather on face while I clean up and put my gear away. That done, another cold water rinse, pat down, and AS revealed that enjoyable sting that I love, and almost no burn. Nivea balm to top it all off, and I'm feeling pretty good.
    Scores
For closeness, I would rate today's performance, overall, a DFS. Scattered BBS with a chance of DFS along the jaw and neck, and CCS on that blasted south pole at my chin. Score: 3. For comfort, there was just a bit of irritation on the right corner of my mouth. Not bad at all--I'd give it a score of 4.

This shave went very well, and I am again reminded why I shaved with the German 37 for so long.

Enjoy the rest of your day,
