    Practice makes perfect they say. I find with shavettes and straights it getting the feel for the proper grip and angle mostly.

    Mine gets terribly dry in winter especially when outside alot. Can be a nightmare to maintain.

    Not all soaps can take the high heat, most can't. One of my Stirling soaps was a complete fail in the hot scuttle test and the other was just OK, a step down from it's warm performance.
