Can anyone here who has tried these soaps tell me how they are? The reason I ask is that yesterday I received a Hallows soap from a good friend of mine in South Africa and it smells beautiful but I have no idea to how the lather and performance are.

    Thanks so much! :)

It takes a bit more water than the average soap. If your lather is more of a paste, add water. I was initially disappointed in B&M soaps, but i figured it out.

Lather and performance are top notch.

B&M soaps are top-notch performers and have pretty good scents too. My wife always gets me a couple B&M soaps for Christmas. She says they're her favorite soap maker to buy from.

My wife says she likes the scent of this Hallows. That’s already a good sign.

My first use of this soap was actually very enjoyable. I think I may have left my brush a bit too wet because the lather was flying all over the bathroom. It works up very easily, it becomes really rich and the slickness is great. I’ll be writing a review at some point today.

Here’s my review of the Hallows:

Ease of lathering: 10/10–Brilliant. Rich, super slick lather so easily. Be careful not to start with too wet a brush, though.

Longevity of lather: 10/10–You get perfect stability from this soap.

General skincare: 8/10–Pretty good. Leaves a comfortable postshave feeling.

Scent: 9/10–Gorgeous. Hard for me to describe, but it’s so classy and elegant.

Price: N/A—Because I did a trade I cannot tell you the price.

    Would I buy again: 9/10– Yes, I believe I would. It’s a lovely soap![IMG]

Couldn't agree more Jeff. I like B&M and think they make some great products. I know you like things cold and as such you may really enjoy Terror. I believe it is a seasonal or limited edition soap like Hallows, but if it comes around again, you should definitely check it out. It is probably my favorite I tried from them. Enjoy Hallows my friend.

    Thanks Steve!

I definitely intend to get Terror when it comes out again!

Hallows is a limited edition soap, seasonal, recurring. You'll have to wait until October to order it again.

I don't care for all his scents, but each scent is expertly crafted. Ditto for Saponifico Verisino.

It’s such a lovely scent - too bad I can’t describe it. Two soaps I’ll make a point to buy are this one and the Terror when/if it comes back. I don’t think the Arctique soap is available anymore.

A fun read, though slightly out of date.

Hallows: "We were tasked with creating a seasonal scent unlike any the world had ever seen before. Taking inspiration from the swamps of Boston, we combined vetiver, oakmoss, black pepper, cocoa, labdanum, and cedar to produce a deep, cold scent suited to the chilly, bitter days of late October. Gloomy, rich, and perversely elegant, Hallows is a reminder of why men once feared the dark. Took a year off in 2017."

I've only tried the Reserve line and didn't care for the style of lather it makes

No more Arctique??? Well, shux...I had fun saying if it's Monday, you must be using Arctique.

I only use my Arctique aftershave on Menthol Monday because I want it to last as long as possible!

B&M has honestly completely confused me with all of the different bases. The Reserve is a gooey mess. I don't even know what base I have (Seville and Bay Rum). The earlier bases are, imo better soaps. Scents range from excellent to "what the heck is this?".
