Talk to newer guys about how it is essential to feel the blade against the skin.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I have used the blue Gillette platinums. That is an absolute top tier blade. If they had kept that one in production it would be in bulk in my den. I have a few of them but don't use them often so as not to run out.

Bring on the Fu! Was only 325 posts behind today . Expected 500, but took me almost 2 hours to read all these. Came home from work, ate , then crashed on the couch with my daughter crashing at the other end . Was a 5am start for us both and a long day.
Great to see so many beautiful pics of gear and wonderful, and sometimes hilarious shave reports.
@wristwatchb , glad to see you and Kathy made it home safe and are getting settled back in! Obviously she's a good driver and in my mind I could just picture how that drive was going as you were posting updates along the way. I usually get told I need to relax more in the passenger seat. Yeah right!
@jgreenepa , good to see you on the mend buddy! Take care of the fingers but don't stop cooking. Seems you enjoy it!

Love the video tidbits Chris! Keep them coming.
Very touching story about your Grandfather. He definitely was a true mans man and an unsung hero.
Alot of the vets from WW 2 my Dad used to congregate with on Remembrance Day here at the local Legion never mentioned any of their heroic efforts, acts of valor, or horror stories of what they seen or been through. They would only share funny anecdotes of old pals and the good memories . I will never forget that almost every single one of them would say to me " I hope your generation never has to go to war young man ". They were a generation unlike we will ever see again.

Alright, I'm down. My Variant is up for rotation tomorrow. Only goes to 6, but that's what I'll set her to--should be fun.

Interesting comments that I find true.

The EJ DE89 is a beautiful piece. It was one of my first razors. I'll never get rid of it.

After taking up edge forward shaving devices, it became my opinion that those great shaves were more difficult with the DE89 than the former. Balancing 'riding the cap' with 'edge feel' and 'minimal pressure' requires precision and skill. For me, buffing aids staying inside that narrow window.
