    Great story, never told!

I think sometimes that particular generation found it difficult to discuss what they had been through.

My father in-law flew long range heavy bombers in Europe. Most of the guys he went over with did not return. He had retired before he was able to discuss it with his children.

He was always active in the VFW. Probably helped him.

Thursday morning, wet, cold, and windy.
Non the less, a great day. Pulling out one of my Ever Ready Flip Tops better known as a shovel head. A new Pesonna GEM blade and away we go. All things equal, I got a wonderful close reduction of whiskers, very nice.
On the down side, if there is one with this razor, I caught my lower lip. Not bad, bur where it was slightly swollen from it cracking due to the dry weather. Trying to be careful around that area, I still grabbed it with the blade. Because the lips bleed something awful, the blood thinners help that along too. I grabbed that white chalky stick.
But no biggie! It stopped with an application of the zinc oxide stick.

Bay Rum and a horse hair brush to start the day off right.
Keeping this tool flatter on the face than most, getting a fine close smooth shave. I forgotten that this guy needs more time and shaking to out the water. The design keeps water held in the head, gotta give it another shake or two after rinsing it out.
Head and face, good for the day!

Looks like things are going along ok here.
From getting home from the long stay for medical treatment, getting better from the flu, and wonderful bithdays.
All the other things going on.
    Everyone
    Enjoy!

    Jason:
I asked a LaResche expert and here is his reply:

“...there are slight differences in time, but over the same period yes heads are identical. There are basically two types :
    - old generation with short comb, straight teeth (before 1930), rather uncommon
    - new generation with longer comb, and wavy teeth, most common.
So yes, 34 should have the same head.
By the way 501 and 51 are the same, I mean 501 is the name of the lone razor, 51 is the name of one of the sets it goes in”

    Razor: Schick I1
    Brush: JR #60 synthetic
    Soap: Stirling Blood on Steel
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Blood on Steel aftershave

Nice and easy one pass shave with a little touch-up on my chin. I've fallen into the one pass shaves a good bit recently, but they still work and it's usually CCS or better. No different today.

    Enjoy your day!

Sour Cream 'n Cheddar Ruffles are on me when we complete the shavette focus!

Shavettes and Ruffles are safe. It's the Clubman you gotta worry about.

Terrific Thursday shave. I borrowed my son's Above the Tie razor that I got him for his birthday at the end of last year. ATT did a special run of 100 razors like this. It is basically an all blue anodized Calypso with an H1 plate. Bottom picture is with my Calypso. These are great light weight shavers. The RR soap does not disappoint. Y'all have a great Thursday and I smell the weekend. 20200213_055043.jpg 20200213_062559.jpg
