Beautiful photo, Jason! Are you going to concentrate on the Seville and finish it off once Fave February is done?

I agree; I'm a buffer too. Even with all the buffing, I was just not finding that sweet spot. My shave with the Variant today was eerily similar, and I ran through the gamut of angles. Both decent results, but the experience was difficult--like shave #7 on the same blade instead of #2 (usually my best shaves with the Personna Blue). I'm not willing to blame the razors for this, but I don't know if I'm willing to spend a lot of time teaching myself how to shave with them either.

Beautiful Bay Rum shave, Terry. Sorry the lip stained what would, otherwise, have been a perfect shave.

It seems that I have bailed on the BAUME.BE, but I have not abandoned my Swedish razor.
Smeared some CrOX onto a balsa strop and my linen strop.
I don't often use the balsa, but I opted to start my shave with it.
Completed my stropping on my SRD 3" and Savin 2".
Today's soap is a vintage puck of Old Spice. The scent is still there, in case you were curious.
I mug-lathered, adding a goodly amount of H2O along the way.
The limited size of the Old Spice mug hinders a good whipping motion,
but I was successful creating a full load for "The Duke".
There's a modicum of shine, as you can clearly see.

That, my friends, is a knot-full.

The Silvertip hair is pretty soft and sports a nice amount of backbone.
Softer than Manchurian, but not as soft as the old Best Badger hair.

The Heijestrand edge proved to be buttery-smooth. My technique has improved significantly
since starting with open blades last year, about this time.
I notice that I am having more success with a shallower angle. It's eerily similar
to peeling an apple with a paring knife. :shocked003:
Naturally, I don't dig into the skin...on purpose, at any rate. ;)
I enjoy feeling the blade glide across my skin. I am also much more likely to NOT
cut myself, as opposed to when I shave with my 2011 R41. Weird, right :signs002:
Why can't I get that "skimming" feeling as easily with the Mühle :signs002:
I know how to "ride the cap"...
Treated myself to a double-splash of the vintage Burley AS, followed by a
lovely application of the Burley cologne.

Beautiful Schick shave, Perry. When I take up using the shavette I may have to start using the one-pass shave for a while. I imagine there will be some differences between our results, though (CCS will probably not be happening for a while) ;)

I go to a beauty salon for my haircuts, Paul. I prefer scissor over comb instead of clippers. I've even been known to walk out with my spit curls intact. They have gun magazines and free coffee too.
