Great shave, Danny! That soap checks off all my boxes! SWMBO is fragrance sensitive. That lather on your Rubberset 400 looks awesome! Where did you source the soap?

Happy birthday, Blair! I’m impressed that you shave the Rex at 6! Must have something to do with developing your blade forward light touch!

I'd like to say I carefully laid out this morning's gear and took several pics and chose my favourite after consultation with a panel of experts. The truth is that after a very long day yesterday I forgot to snap a new pic. I did, however, change the filter and saturation of last week's combo #6 photo.
Got up a little later that usual but did take the time for a pleasant 2 pass shave. Went XTG and then ATG (not on lower neck, XTG the other way) and got very good results for 2 passes. Hoping to get out of work by the middle of the afternoon as I do have a couple of non-work related appointments starting at 3. Not sure what Mrs. Spartan and I will do for Valentine's Day this evening, to be honest. Maybe just some quiet, quality time together.

    Have a great day all!

Glad you like it, Patrick. I find the scent pleasant, and the quality is fine with some added Glycerin and more Menthol, but I think it fades very quickly. I'd send you the whole bottle, but you can buy your own for less that the exorbitant Canada Post rates for me to send it to you...

They know what they're doing...moreso in St Petes than in Moscow, though.:scared003:. Just add some Nacets, PermaSharps and Polsilvers to that order and you are good to go...:happy097:

    Week 2
    Feb. 14 Episode 14: "A Happy Valentine's Day"

    Razorock Classic TTO
The final day of week two has me facing one of my more aggressive razors: the Classic TTO. It bit me last week, so I was extra careful with it today. Very light pressure (for the most part), and slowed pace for my trouble spots: corners of mouth, around lips, and bottom of chin. This razor is much more intuitive for me than the Variant or the DE89 are. The sweet spot is fairly easy to find, and it rewards me with a close comfortable shave if I respect it...

... it's an inexpensive, but pretty razor. I have really enjoyed shaving with my Razorock razors this month!

    The Shave

The first two passes (WTG and XTG) went as they were intended: light pressure and gradual reduction. The third pas (ATG) went mostly as intended: again, light pressure and gradual reduction. Then I saw the baby was just one or two steps away...

    Ruminations on Baby Chasing
As a father of several children, you'd think I would avoid anything called "Chasing the baby." I've discovered if you want to catch a kid quickly, the last thing you do is go after them. You ignore them. You call their name, then run around a corner and wait for the baby to come to you... gotcha! If you run after a baby, everything you learned about form goes out the window: you run doubled over, both arms extended out in front of you, and take ridiculous shuffling half-steps. 30 seconds later you find yourself wondering, "How is this baby so blasted fast?" It's not--you are running like an idiot. You'll eventually catch the little critter, but by the time you do, you are exhausted.

Likewise, when I chase the BBS shave, everything goes out the window: light pressure... gone! Shaving only areas that are properly lathered or slick... gone! Maintaining proper shave angle... gone! Will you get a BBS shave? Certainly, but enjoy your bloody lava-face.

    Back to the Shave
My problem with chasing the baby is that I tell myself I'll only take a couple of steps, but before I realize it, the front door is flung wide open and I'm halfway down the street. I stopped myself on the front porch, so to speak, before backing off and finishing my shave. Once I backed off, oddly enough, the baby came to me. However, those steps out the front door cost me some irritation. Thankfully, I stopped before it got too bad, though.

    The Score
    Comfort
: slight, but noticeable irritation along the goat-zone. Score: 3
    Closeness: BBS. Score: 5

Chase comfort instead of closeness. I think I'm paraphrasing from you thoughts, but it's great advice. Don't chase the baby. Just shave and let the results work. Great reports, Tim!
