Today's shave was a good success-after a nasty cut at the jawline during Pass #1. Not TERRIBLE, but enough to require some Neosporin and a bandage. 25 seconds to load the Stoylin li'l brudder, the soap spread around at a nice pace. Pass #2 was much better than the first, but it meant I had to spend practically the entire shave "staring" at my accident. Ramblin' Man is a good one, that's a fact. Comment-Pretty Excellent But Shoulda Been Better.

That sounds great, Patrick! We actually have four including @Trigger and @timabababaluka.

Does anyone else think Joe rocks a cool bathrobe?

Great head shave, Patrick! I also really like the velveteen smoothness you get after a good head shave! That’s what my 51 was delivering regularly!

Good morning everyone! a good nights sleep and a absolutely wonderful shave.
Got a razor in the mail yesterday, an Adelene, made in Femont Ohio. An older razor that seems to take the GEM styles of blades. Now before you rush to Ebay to get one, there are things you should know.
First is the GEM blades need the spline removed to fit into this little gal.
Second is when pushing on the clip that holds the blade in place, you push your fingers toward the business end of the blade. I also clipped off the points where the spline is crimped to the blade, for my safety. An original blade came with it and they are thicker, that means an adjustment is needed to hold the thinner blade. Also the GEM blades are slightly shorter, making it necessary to push the blade in place from behind to set it correctly. I used a knife edge to do this.
All of this seems quite crazy just to get a shave, but boring it ain't.

Here is a close up of this little gal.

With a little work, I could make the blade line up and figure out the safest way to load the blade. It shaves to nice to give up on.
2 passes on the face, 2 passes on the head no issues except, I caught the scab on my lip again. Yea, I know.... pay attention! well.......
I'm clean, smooth and ready for the day.
Anyway, off to the days fun and chores.
    Everyone!
    Enjoy (your day)

Marvelous shave, Jeff! I believe that the soap is an integral part of the shave for maximum results. Some provide cushion, some slickness and others will give both. It really depends on the shaver's preference. Personally, I like Stirling soaps for the cushion, slickness and price.

Nice shave, Paul! It's too bad about the cut on the jawline.

Lol! I am working on my physique, but I don't think it is possible to be like those men at my age of 64 and soon to be 65 in a few months.

Thanks, Joe! I only own Stirling Glacial Obsidian, and it’s ok! I have yet to find a soap as good as MWF for me! I’m allergic to Martin de Candre Vetiver and find Soap Commander and Declaration Grooming soaps ok. Nothing yet has proved as good as the Fat for me! YMMV

    Good morning guys!
    Shavette shave # 138
    Dovo Shavette
    Personna Hairshaper Blade (4)
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
    Stirling Glastonbury SS and AS
    Nivea ASB
The Omega brush really does a fantastic job creating a nice wet and slick Stirling lather. I may be biased, but this brush is awesome and it is quite the bargain for under 10 dollars. I have had this brush for over a year and at this point it hasn't shed a bristle in about 9 months. Today's shave was a wonderful BBS on two passes and a minor neck touchup without any irritation or red liquid oozing out of my skin. The matching aftershave scent was pleasant, but not overpowering. Topped the shave with the Nivea. I feel refreshed! Have a great Saturday fellas! 20200215_083201.jpg 20200215_083201.jpg
