I have been extremely lazy this morning but at least I got my shower and shave in before noon. ;) @MrEE Evan sent me a pm offering an aluminum brush handle he made and I jumped at the offer. I knew the handle looked great in photos but it was much nicer in person. My wife commented on how great it looked and remarked it would match well with several of my razors. I installed a SHD 2 band knot from Maggard Razors and today was the Mr EE #4 shaving debut. Since I am not a fan of the Mr Taylors scent I mixed in some Captain's Choice Bay Rum shave cream. The brush was a joy to hold while face lathering. I decided to up the setting on the Rex to 6 for today's shave. Three passes had the baby in sight. I dialed the Rex back to 1 and buffed my neck and jawline catching the baby with ease. My best shave with the Rex Ambassador to date. A splash of Dominica Bay Rum and I am ready for a lazy Saturday.

Awesome shave, Jeff. I’d lean more to great technique, rather than give the soap too much credit, fwiw.
Do a search for a LeResche #34 sometime...looks very similar to your Single Ring.

Sounds like you’re there on the Rex, Clint! Mine was delivered today, but I’m staying in our condo over the weekend, so won’t get to it until early next week. I’m looking forward to using it with my MWF focus!

    Jason:
I found out that the LaResche 34 and 51 heads are identical for all razors made after 1930 according to a LaResche expert. The two heads (ie Old Type and 51/34) appear similar, but the comb design on the LaResche is quite different.

    Good morning

Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Just a whisper from the alum around my adams apple.

    Have a great weekend! [IMG]

Agree 100% on the Omega Pros, Joe. Best brush deal around. The ‘49 knot is super easy to bash out as well.

Shaved with “the mango” today (I Coloniali Mango), and decided once and for all that I don’t get the mythical properties it’s purported to have. I even have it in a fancy IKEA Grundtal container. Sure, it’s nice and all, but not worth the 50 bucks I’ve got into it. PM me if you’re a fan boy , otherwise it’ll end up on a BST sooner or later.

The brush has a great knot in it too. I think I paid all of $17.00 for it shipped from China.
