1. I was looking at my records and saw that I made a mistake. I bought the NOS 7/8 Henckel Friodur Sq Pt for 95 dollars plus shipping. I still got a great deal. I was looking at my 7/8 Herder that I bought for 89 dollars plus shipping. I have to keep my glasses on my face Lol!

  3. So true, Bill. I try to be a good steward with my money. I try to get quality items for the fairest price. I believe people should make a profit, but I do not like to be hustled.
  4. Yep, that’s still a steal! Congrats.

  10. This just came in, from Argentina. It looks to be a Half Hollow grind. The spine is very thick, but the hollowed area, and edge is paper thin. Just touching the hollowed area, with my nail, can be see from beneath. Very very thin grind. The scales are nothing to wright home about, and part of the swivel area will need to be reshaped, because of a break. Total was $50, with shipping, and tax.

  12. @TestDepth , here is

This is the sister razor to one @TestDepth had posted. "ElFauno" from Paraguay. Mine says 50-71, and is 13/16th. The etching is very deep.

  13. So much for my theory that the numbers were a lot #, and the last two were the year. :signs002:
Yours looks like the much earlier tang stamps, so 1975 (mine) to 1971(yours) wouldn’t make sense.
    Very cool purchase Scott!
  14. It appears mine is a Pre-1950's and yours too, possibly. If you read Post #4. Especially the first part.
"Pre-1950 versions will NOT have "FABRICACION ESPAÑOLA / MADE IN SPAIN" stamped on the rear of the tang"

    .
  15. Here's an old one.
The following words are not stamped on the tang:
    Filarmonica, Imperial, Especial.
But I believe that's what it is.

  17. It’s a first iteration of generation 1 as described in wrls post.

Edit: maybe not, no ‘IMPERIAL’! Nice one.
Karl G and Edison Carter like this.
  18. My interpretation of the wrl post, is that the first of the 3 Especial iterations,
is an (Imperial), but it's not until you get to the second iteration
that Imperial is stamped on the tang.

Three main iterations of the "Especial" model (in order; transitional anomalies exist)
    • Tang shows curved Jose Monserrat Pou with stylized eagle (IMPERIAL brand), tall & vertical "14"
    • Tang shows IMPERIAL brand, straight Jose Monserrat Pou, short & horizontal "14" with lyre
You can buy the second iteration here:

  19. I believe that your interpretation is correct.
