    Thank you, Gary!
I'm going through all my razors that have a blade left in them from No Repeat November. It just so happens that I have a run of Gillettes going.

Fine American Blend~~Simpson 2 "Chubby"~~Heijestrand MK32~~YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme
Decided to experiment with the stropping before today's shave.
I eschewed the CrOx Linen and went straight to the Wladimir Savin 2" strop for 50 laps.
That was it. Results to follow.
Has anyone else noticed that Fine Soaps are not the same as they used to be?
This puck of American Blend is as hard as any triple-milled soap I own.
But my tub of Lavender (purchased later) is still malleable. Even after grating and
pressing it back into the container.
I would like to hear back from you users of Fine Accoutrements Soaps.
I did do a slight bloom whilst showering.
Achieved a lovely, shiny (shinier than the photo) lather.

The YSL scent dupe is superb. My favorite of the Fine lineup.
I stuck with a Chubby today, albeit one size down. The CH2 handle is a bit small,
but the knot isn't quite the lather hog the CH3 is. It still holds the lather,
    but an "aggressive"
paintbrush stroke will coerce the lather onto your face.
I had enough lather for three passes and the some touch up.
Speaking of passes, the results of the "just leather" stropping were:
    :rolleyes005:NO NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE :rolleyes005:
It should be noted that the Savin 2" is extremely slick with little to no draw "feel".
Blade feel, however was controlled and effective.
    I did some modified "buffing"
strokes; meaning I would make a short pass, then with the back of the blade,
reverse direction, thereby reapplying the lather to that area, then
    re-shave on that same area.
I was focussed and cautious, as I wouldn't necessarily recommend this technique to
    :whacky024: 's.
    90% BBS 10% DFS
    That's a "win" in Primo's scorebook.
Capped it off with a conservative (I am hoarding this juice) splash of the YSL.

    Great write up Joseph!
Nice shave, pulling the lather on with a back stroke, interesting in deed.

thank you Terry.i am fortunate to have it and got it by surprise.a friend was thinning his collection to buy something and offered it to me.never seen another, only on mr razor's sight.its silver plated as well, not chromium like the u.s versions.also a 2 piece as the knob doesn't separate from the handle.

    Week 3 (Comfort Week)
    Feb. 16--Episode 16: “Crud!”
    Ever Ready 1912
One of the razors I subconsciously think of as a "comfort razor." I tend to get pleasant shaves out of the 1912 (if I manage to only stack one blade in it--which I did)...

    1912.jpeg

    Week 3 Gear
    • Blade: SS non-coated gem (1)
    • Brush: Kong
    • Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire.
    • AS: Tsuka.
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented.
    Week 3.jpeg

    The Shave
My 2+ passes went fairly well up until the '+' part of the shave. Must have got a little careless in my buffing. My shave was all but finished; I had just done a cold water rinse when I noticed a tiny red mark that looked like a blemish. Just to be certain, I dabbed at it with some tissue, and sure enough... blood. Barely. It was the most bloodless blood I've ever seen, but it was definitely blood. Shave was already over, but the score is 0. Crud!

    The Score
    Comfort
: 0--too bad, because this would have been a '4' at the very least.
Closeness: 0--This was a surprisingly close shave for 2+. Right between BBS and DFS; it would have got a 4.

    Tally

    Tsuka

The burn was pretty significant this morning. I also noticed a bit of redness. I don't know if it was from the shave, or the AS, but considering that my irritation from yesterday's shave grew and grew as the day wore on, I'm looking in Tuska's direction. I don't know if it will survive this week--I have mixed feelings about that. Today is one of those days where I am enjoying the scent.

Everyone enjoy the rest of your Sunday! For those of you on the other side of the world, hope your weekend was pleasant and relaxing. I will catch up with you Monday :D
