Good morning, gentlemen, and Happy Presidents Day to my brothers in the US! I completed another shave with my focus gear today. Sticking with the same gear for an extended period of time is boring to write about, but it allows me to get the best result from my two pass and touch-up routine. Everything came together this morning for super comfortable, near BBS results.

I finally finished up a bottle of Uomo EdT last week (not one I'll re-buy). It was lightly scented. It had gradually lost its strength, and it finally "turned" as we say here in my neck 'o the woods. As a result, I called it quits with this one. My colognes now include Aramis, Aramis Tobacco Reserve (haven't used it yet), and Terre d'Hermes. I've enjoyed TDH the last few days.

I'm well on my way to finishing up a bottle of Floid Vigoroso. After using it for the last few weeks, I've grown to really like the barbershop scent with the added menthol kick. It's good...but probably not good enough for a re-buy. Of the three soaps in my current rotation - Mike's, Jabonman Eufros, and Stirling - the BoS is showing the most use. All three soaps are top performers and are potential re-buys. In a continuing effort to simplify my den, I'll continue on until I use up these items.

The soap in the background of my SOTD photo is Stirling Sheep Soap. Man, this stuff is slick and nourishing. It works great as a pre-shave soap.

I plan to work on taxes today. Unlike @clint64, I don't get paid to have this kind of fun. :) I hope you all have a fantastic Monday.

...and I got a package in the mail from Japan Post last week. It's still in the box, stickered, tagged, and covered in lint. This model, the Seiko SARB033 has recently been discontinued. It is considered to be one of their mid-range models and is wildly popular among Seiko lovers. It has a 6R15 in-house Seiko automatic movement and was manufactured for the Japanese Domestic Market. They are still available on eBay at great price. If you're looking for a classic dress watch packed with nice features at a great price, you might want to check out this model. For those of you not good at reading between the lines, stop what you're doing and purchase one immediately. You'll thank me later. :)

I'm good with blood, El Scratcho! The last three "bloody" shaves I've had were decent and comfy shaves. Blood over burn--any day ;)

    Thanks, Patrick!

Terrific report, Charlie! Congrats on the new watch! You might want to consider the SARB035 as it will rotate nicely with the 033.

I still have no experience with Oud, so I have no reference to go on here, but if you like the aromatic qualities of cedar, and don't mind smokiness, there are some great things going on in ToF. Again, YMMV (as the reviews on the Stirling site clearly indicate), but I love it :)

    Some Weekend Shave-fu!

Wonderful shaves, photos, stories, advice, examples of awesomeness, and overall good will. I love reading your reports, and wish I had more time to comment on them than this blanket-sweep shave-fu post.

Enjoy your Monday, all! Shave report to follow... :D

Looking forward to your report on that 15/16. That seems large, but I am supremely ignorant about straight razor measurements.

Well, my beard is gray and white so I can get away with shaving every 36 hours or so and still look ok. At the 48 hour level, then I would definitely need a shave unless I don't need to go anywhere important. The wedge or near wedge straights are heavier than full hollow because there is more blade, therefore, it's better to use these razors for heavier growth. I have used my near wedge on a lighter stubble (36 hr), and have had great shaves with it. Personally, I wouldn't use the near wedge as a daily shaver because I enjoy all my straights because every one gives me great shaves.
