Later than usual shave today, but there was no sacrifice in quality.

The biggest drawback of a larger-than-normal shave den, is that you simply neglect great products.
Martin de Candre, the renowned French soap maker is one of them.
Got a really great lather with the Keyhole.

    Plenty for three passes.
Day 17 with the Heljestrand MK32 and the edge is still going strong.
Went back to the CrOx/3" SRD stropping ritual, with 10 extra laps on the Savin.
I really love the slickness of that strop. Not sure if that's good or bad, but
    boy does it slide.
Few drops of blood on the lower neck, trying too hard. Stupid.
My eyes are still watering from the "iced" Florida Water.
8-9 grams of menthol crystals dissolved into the bottle.
That will wake you up in the morning.
    Or, afternoon.

Yikes....Charlie, your "breakup" cartoon reminds me of a drum lesson I took way back in around 6th grade. My teacher told me to "hit my left stick"......and that's exactly what I did....raised the right stick and hit the left one! He meant for me to hit the stick onto the drum pad! I guess I just wasn't used to music slang.

Fantastic shave, Joseph. Sorry to hear about the lower neck, though. Iced Florida Water sounds invigorating. :D

Congrats Tim! Sorry about the small cut, but overall it sounds like a great shave. Dialing in the angle by feel is key for me to get close and comfortable shaves. The bulb of my chin also takes a little work and is therefore more susceptible to boo boos. It doesn't help that my chin hair grows in all directions. I've learned to come at it from different directions using a lot of small strokes and no pressure whatsover. Most of the time, a cold water splash or some alum will close up any weepers.

I like how this gent keeps his off-hand busy stretching his skin. He winds up with a pretty nice shave using oil on the first pass and just water on the second...not what I'd use, but his system seems to work. I've watched a lot of DE shave videos, and you usually don't see guys stretch their skin to this extent. However, I try to do so regardless of the razor I use. It's just good practice on a DE, but it is non-negotiable on a shavette. I hope you find the video helpful.

Life. It happens. But that's probably a good thing--beats the alternative, no?

Either way, good to hear from you again, Myles :D

Heck, Tim, I have had worse paper cuts. I HIGHLY recommend a bottle of Florida Water, and then kick it up a notch with some menthol crystals.
