You're right, you don't see a lot of DE shavers stretching their skin. I've found it helpful enough that I've got 4 smalls squares of cloth dedicated to skin stretching (my fingers get slippery when soapy and wet). I do get lackadaisical at times, though. I'll have to curb those lapses when I start with the shavette.
I do much better at drying my hands thoroughly when using a shavette. When I'm DE shaving, a little alum on wet skin really improves the grip. I keep a small alum block on my sink top. I'm afraid they're not kid friendly, though. They will shatter if dropped. This was my last alum purchase...a bit less expensive per ounce and easier to throw in my travel kit. I find it easier to apply to my face this way also.
I'm embarrassed to say this, but I've looked into Florida Water in the past, and the only thing that kept me from pulling the trigger was some of the far out comments by reviewers. A stupid reason to be sure, especially considering I've seen some solid members of the forum use it. I'll probably try it over the summer--with a menthol boost, of course
Sounds good, Myles. All good here. Getting caught up on stuff around home the past few days. Weather is good here in Kentucky, so we got outside today too.
This was the face shave ..nothing fancy, wiped off a couple days growth in 2 passes. The lather was HOT and OUTSTANDING and was done in a BOWL. I cant believe I just wrote that last line. Anywho, off to do a headshave next . Enjoy!
