Week 3 (Comfort Week)
Razorock Classic TTO
A wonderful shaver, but a bit of a wild card when it comes to blood…

I really had no business shaving today; it was another one of those days when I wake up excited to take on a new shave, then open my eyes again only to find a half hour has somehow slipped by. That’s twice it’s happened in a month or so--I need to re-examine some of my life choices and see what’s causing this.
Week 3 Gear
- Blade: Personna Blue (3)
- Brush: Kong
- Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire.
- AS: Tsuka. I must have hit the perfect amount today. Yes, a bit of a lasting burn, but I am really digging the subtle scent that is left over from application nearly three hours ago. Fantastic.
- Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented.

The Shave
A very rushed shave today. Flew through the 1st (WTG) pass, and knew I was asking for trouble, but proceeded to take on my 2nd (XTG) pass at full-steam-ahead. No time for touch-ups, but with a buffing 2nd pass I came away with a remarkably close shave--and a pinprick sized spot of blood just outside my upper lip.
The blood itself didn’t surprise me at all. What did, was how little there was of it. It could have (should have) been a lot worse.
That a rushed, 2 pass, no touch-up shave could get me BBS/DFS results is a testament to just how efficient this razor is. That I am feeling so little irritation afterwards can only be attributed to my Irish heritage, and the vast sums of luck interwoven through my DNA. I should be on fire right now.
The Score
- Comfort: would have been a ‘4’ but sadly… score: 0
- Closeness: also would have been at a ‘4’ but also… score: 0

Well, it’s official--a losing week in terms of blood drawn. In terms of comfortable and close shaves, oddly enough, it’s been the best week of the month. Life is crazy like that, No?
Enjoy your hump day, gentlemen!
