2 pass super comfy BBS. Had to let my face heal for a few days after my second round with the R41, which went worse than the first because of the blade I chose. Nothing wrong with the razor - but there's nothing like a bad shave to make you appreciate a good one, and today's was a good one. I imagine it's like what old-time carbon blade users felt the first time they tried those newfangled stainless blades.

SOTD 02/23/20

Excellent three pass shave today with my Cooper Monobilt, a remarkably efficient razor with a unique folding snap closure razor head design. I have the high level enabling skills of the Cooper Owner’s Club at TSD to thank for kicking my RAD into gear several months ago, but I definitely do not regret the purchase of this highly efficient razor. I always enjoy my shaves with it. Part of the pleasure involves simply preparing the razor for the shave.

I inserted a Suneko blade, snapped the head closed after ensuring that the end tab of the blade was sitting under the hinge. This process is well engineered and always seats the blade perfectly for me. I then lathered up with my favorite Boar brush, the Omega Pro48 and had at it. Three smooth passes later and the baby was put to bed, another bloodless BBS. The Chiseled Face Cryogen AS Splash left me feeling clean, smooth, very cool and ready for church! I wish everyone a happy Sunday! I especially wish my two friends shaving with their newly acquired SS DLC Coated Lupos a great shave!

The Arko Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #375 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Lather Catcher with a J.A. Henckels Wedge blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I can't figure out this One Blade. For five weeks, I had the closest, most irritation-free shaves of my life. Now, the shaves are neither. I'm goin to blame it on a batch of bad blades.

This was my second time using the Hallows soap which my good friend Ignaz sent me and I think it’s fantastic. The scent is beautiful, I cannot describe the scent accurately though. It’s a great latherer, and it’s got pretty damned good skincare. The Arko Aqua gel is very soothing, moisturizing, as well as cooling, and the Max Disinfecting aftershave from Bulgaria smells very nice, it stings like a son of a gun for two seconds, but then it feels so good. What a dynamite shave this was!
