It was a "foot-stomper" of a good shave Joseph(the finish anyway). Course you're right, there was some slappin' happenin'.

Not sure about the 4 pass thing...
I get a better shave with only 2 passes using a very sharp blade and an efficient razor than I ever get from a mild manner razor and blade doing many many passes.
My skin thanks me too.
Thats why I use a sharp new blade each and every time, with a good brush hog of a razor.
If I want a very smooth shave.

It's partially the lighting and the color itself. The razor isn't black, more a gun metal grey.
