That is how I take care of my strops too.

I need a sharp blade, if it isn't sharp the shave will be ...... not fun.

I am big Tabac fan too.

Monday Shave: That means back to work and a safety razor shave. Keeping with the theme Feb Favs I went with my 2011 R41 loaded with a fresh GSB, added some liquid lanolin to the MdC and all was right with my world. An excellent shave.

Thank you Charlie. I've already bought her an Omega for an earlier anniversary so the watch is taken care of. ;)

The knots on the Trafalgar are not nearly as dense and the coloring looks less natural. However, given the difference in price, I can easily recommend the Trafalgar series without reservations.

    Back to shaving.....
I wanted a one pass shave, that is where I am today. I'll get a better shave tomorrow morning.
Everyone is gone their merry way, the house is quiet, nice.
Pulled out my Focus R21 shavette and loadded it with a half a new Feathe blade.
Now I'm NOT proficient at an open blade razor so I'll take it slow.
Being a terribly brave sole (or terribly stupid) just starting a new type of blood thinner because the others seem to give me odd reactions, makes this even more challenging.
I'll leave that for you to decide.
The landings are all against the side never on the blade. Gently roll the tool till the blade just touched the skin, then shave. Doing this on the right side then the left side gave me an ok pass.
The jaw line took a little figuring out but the razor went along that area fine with little trouble.
The neck, oh the neck, I used the two handed style for the cheeks and jaw line so to on the neck both sides and the middle, no issues, hummm.
Let us NOT get to cocky here, that spells disaster.
The sides, lip to chin all were fine.
Now my problem area, the bottom of my chin is trouble. It fights any blade put forth. Defying logic and steel it refuses to heed to any but the most keen of blades.
Trying to remove this god awful ruggedized burlap is a chore, to say the least.
Having to hold the blade stout so it can't be tossed of like a child's toy is the only way.
    But to tight and.......
I did get it sufficiently mowed to be sure, but only in a pedestrian sorta way.
Done! No blood! No rash! Its another one pass for the books.
The head shave I'll leave for morning.

Used the sample of Stirling Agar today, some hillbilly after shave then more Stirling to finish the deed.
Smooth but for the chin, that will take some practice.

    All
    ENJOY!

    Nice, very nice Keith.
If you set one of your Dragon Slayers on your desk, like you picture, and explain thats what you use to shave with.
    You'll get respect, IMO.

Great shave and fantastic post, Terry! Bloodless shaves with a shavette are a success in my book. You must have a really tough beard, so I'm sure that presents special challenges. The chin is my trouble spot too, but it will get better. Keep at it! Good job!

Unfortunately, I was not paying attention and ran out of SE blades. I will have to grab some more blades soon, but still have a few hundred DE blades to use up as well. This was my first DE shave in a few months and it was pretty good considering. I definitely prefer the stiffer SE blade, but finished with two passes, sans irritation, mostly bbs.

    Thanks Charlie!
Honestly the chin, I almost scrape it to remove the darn stuff. Even with feathers, my hand is just closer to the business with a safety razor.
    Light touch, not there!
    well....

It's sometimes amazes me what a man can do with just a little fearless stupidity.

    Nice Dale, good rebound!
That Gillette will get it done right!

I'm always afraid of running out of blades too.
    Good luck!
