  1. I had seen this one a couple months back and when I stop back by the little store they still had it. They are some nice looking brushes.
  2. Thanks Clint!
Maybe next weekend, I'll do it again.
If I get any quiet time.

  3. That’s funny, I ordered the brush about a week ago, but it hasn’t arrived yet. The soap is here, but I haven’t used it yet. It’s on the line-up for next month. My focus this month has been MWF. I’m really looking forward to trying the Imperial. My son bought me the Alpha Shaving 400 Homage brush handle with two empty ferrules which is designed to use as many knots as one buys ferrules for. I just set a synthetic knot I bought from Maggards in one of the ferrules. It should be cured by tomorrow afternoon. I’ll probably take it for a spin in the next day or two.

During my 100 days of Straight Razor Boot Camp I came to the point I knew was going to stick with edge forward shaving devices. I purchased this
Razor as my baseline for sharpness to my trainer and it still is for all my straights. It was honed on a coticule by Jarrod at The Superior Shave. It has had some minimal time on pasted strops. The only straight I have that beats it is my Gustave Lalune.

In spite of the fact that the Cocobolo scaled Sunday Shaver did so good yesterday, I'm going to work it on my coticule a bit to see if I can bring it up to this one for smoothness. Not a bad shaver but comparison is the root of all inferiority.

Same shave but stopped at 3.5 passes, relaxing and fun, just a little smoother.

  9. I worked for a company that ground pigment into nitrocellulose resin which is kept wet with alcohol. Dry.... it easily becomes exothermic. It did so on a mill about once a week. The sprinkler for that mill room went off, including those on the roof, the Fire Dept made their rounds, sirens blaring. A couple of hours later, the mill was running again. 75 years without a related injury.

There was enough nitrocellulose on hand for a wonderful fireworks show not to mention the solvent tank farm.
