To begin my cryogenic-freeze, I reached for my tub of Stirling Wintergreen.
Now, this soap, in its normal iteration, is fairly cold, BUT...
in the Glacial Form, well, Ladies and Germs, it's downright frigid.

My super-cold suds were a bit on the over-hydrated side, if that is at all possible.
For your consideration:

Now this lather will numb your skin, it's so frigid.

To brave these ice-cold elements, I chose a blade with ice in its veins.

Born from the glacial mountains, just south of the Arctic Circle, the MK32
was ice-forged by gnomes, born of Skadi

Booyakasha.
After 2 passes and almost passing out from the rapid drop of my skin temperature,
with fingers nearly frost-bitten, I rinsed the liquid nitrogen from my skin.
But that's not the end, nooooooooooo, not nearly.
I donned my fire-proof gloves for what would be the finale of all finales.
Mentholated Florida Water.
Yes, a full 10 grams of menthol crystals dissolved into this juice.
More than one splash is considered life-threatening.
The liquid began immediately to eat through the 3" leather palms of my gloves.
I braved the elements and threw caution to the wind and with a stiff-spine
applied the elixir.
If you are reading this, I am now in a cryogenic state, only to be awaken when the price of a

I like both the Aluminum and SS Lupo. In my opinion they have the same face feel and with just a slight adjustment in technique to compensate for the weight, or lack thereof, I get the same results. I've really grown fond of lightweight razors but the heavyweights will still be my go to. I'm thinking the Aluminum Lupo will be my travel razor.I got the chills just reading your report, Joseph!

During my 100 days of Straight Razor Boot Camp I came to the point I knew was going to stick with edge forward shaving devices. I purchased this
Razor as my baseline for sharpness to my trainer and it still is for all my straights. It was honed on a coticule by Jarrod at The Superior Shave. It has had some minimal time on pasted strops. The only straight I have that beats it is my Gustave Lalune.

In spite of the fact that the Cocobolo scaled Sunday Shaver did so good yesterday, I'm going to work it on my coticule a bit to see if I can bring it up to this one for smoothness. Not a bad shaver but comparison is the root of all inferiority.

Same shave but stopped at 3.5 passes, relaxing and fun, just a little smoother.

I have a box of razors to go through before I let anyone else use them.
They are good, look ok, but the test is if they shave nice, or like they should.
First up a Red Tip from the box, cleaned up it still looks old and wore out.
All the mechanisms work fine and the barn doors close and open great, they stay closed during the shave too.
I get an ok shave from these little tools.
Nothing to write home to mom about, but a better than average work shave.
Yes, a new Feather blade is important.

I was busy all weekend with various events and this week is going to be very busy as well. Nice shave to start the work week. One pass with a little clean-up and called it done. Sticking with my focus of using this soap at least twice a week.

SOTD 02/24/20

Another great 2 pass BBS with a minor weeper to the left of my Adam’s Apple. The shave would have been bloodless, if I’d just left the hint of roughness around my Adam’s Apple alone. The result would have been a bloodless DFS and near BBS. Live and learn. The tool of choice today was my 2011 R41 loaded with a Feather blade. I’m always amazed at the efficiency and blade feel with this razor. Five more days with MWF before I switch to a half month with PannaCrema Nuavia Blu and the other half with Imperial soap. In any case, I feel clean, smooth and refreshed.

I fell hopelessly behind this weekend, so I am skipping ahead. I did get a second shave in with the Lupo and Dead Sea combination yesterday, which was as good as the first. RR soaps are not my favorite performers, although they certainly get the job done. The scent of Dead Sea is so unique in my collection, so I will keep it.

Today, I went with an old favorite, King of Bourbon. The scent is just terrific, and the performance is easily among the better soaps I have. The Lupo is proving to be a very efficient, smooth razor. Two passes and a near DFS. Hard to beat on a Monday morning. I hope everyone has a great day!

Aaand....a fine shave this morning with Jeeves Bay Rum Soap followed by Stephan Bay Rum aftershave. Y'know , there isn't much of a scent to either product, but the main feature of both is that they provide solid skin food. Course I'm not saying there is NO scent-something is there, but the FEEL and skin health come right out. Two good passes, good work in cutting into some growth on the northeast side(looking into the mirror)of my neck, and also at both jaw lines. One small weeper, otherwise no issues. \

As expected, I didn't get called to work for the 1st day back after break so I got some extra sleep. I just finished this shave so let me get to the post. Everything was in perfect harmony. The Rocky brush produced a nice, creamy, slick and cushiony lather that looked like the professional shave youtubers. I have to say synthetic brushes produce aesthetic lathers on the face. On 40.5 hr growth, the hairshaper still mowed down the "grass" without any problems because this blade was still sharp with 4 shaves prior to this one. Two passes without touchups gave me an IBSS++ without irritation. However, I landed just a tad harder to give me a weep under my nose. An immediate cold rinse took care of it. I really liked the mellow scent of this Sandalwood to keep my mood in the same vain. Splashed the Stirling Sandalwood and then the Nivea to end a nice shave. Have a pleasant day guys! A very pleasant shave with the Red Tip again this morning. Whipped up a nice lather and had 3 easy passes. I touched up my neckline a bit after the 3rd pass and truth be told I have gotten closer shaves consistently with other razors. Such a smooth shaver, I may spend a few days with it next month to get it dialed in again. I realize I spend very little time with TTOs anymore.
I'm fighting a bit of a cold and do have to do a couple of presentations today. Yup, feels like a Monday...

The shave was awesome. 3 passes to BBS taking down 3 days of growth. Ended up getting sick and didn't do much except make brush #6.

I have the machining down pretty well for this model. I want to learn how to anodize before I move on to more complex designs. Lots to learn.

This one ended up looking pretty good. Matte finish with 1 spot that didn't take the dye most likely from not being rinsed well enough.

Oh well, now I have a camping brush and I'm set pretty well for #8. Probably just do a polished brush with some engraving for #7.

I went with Barg Beef with basmati rice with saffron and lemon zest. For app we had Mirza Ghasemi which is smoked eggplant with tomato and garlic. We had a great time.

I have the CH2, but it is hard to get the bristles to splay well, and this seems to cause the lather to collect and ooze out (for lack of a better term) at the handle rather than deposit on the face. It always feels my hand and the sink have more lather than anything else when I use it. The Trafalgar seems interesting. The JAWS does as well.

The Trafalgar splays so much easier with its higher loft. The handle is taller which helps with the soap on the hand problem.
