Thank you Jim. The appointment today went well. Now I have to get colonoscopy. But it has been 8 years since the last one.

    Week 4, Day 5 Gear
    • Blade: Feather (1)--my first time with a Feather blade. For close to 8 years I have heard the hype. Did it live up to it? Yes and no. Did my beard, with one look at the Feather, throw its hands up in the air and walk off my face? No? Did I experience that (for me) mythical scenario where I have to check my face to see if my razor was actually cutting anything? No. BUT--did I wind up using less pressure than I have ever used in a shave? Yes. Am I BBS/DFS after 2 1/2 passes? Yes. Am I sporting ZERO irritation? Yes. Takeaway--Feather blades are not magic, but they are pretty darned good. I still have to assess whether performance outweighs price.

    The Shave
A very pleasant shave this morning. 1st pass (WTG) went very smoothly.

2nd (ATG) pass also went well. The rebel hairs along the goat-zone were putting up resistance, so I switched to XTG which helped, and went after the unruly zone a 3rd time (ATG). I decided to back off with the buffing and let the baby do whatever the heck it wanted--I’m done pulling hamstrings chasing that little critter.

Somewhere along the way I took a little slice off a tiny blemish on my upper lip, but didn’t feel or see the evidence till my shave was just about ended. Without blood this would be a Comfort: 5, Closeness: 4 shave--one of my best shaves this month. With my highly unrealistic ‘Dead Is Dead’ rule, a zero. Honestly, I won’t be using the scores to make my decisions; they’re tainted.

    Tally

It looks like a film for one of the driver’s ed courses I had to take in high school… so much blood :happy102:

Fantastic shaves, though. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your HUMP DAY!!!! :D

    Excellent shave, Tim!
Feathers are my favorite DE blades. Italian Barber will occasionally have a good sale on them. Not Astra or Voskhod cheap but every little bit helps.

Thank you, Jim. Kathy is feeling great and doing well. A key "marker" in her bloodstream has been reduced by 80%. The goal is to reach >90% and then go to Mayo. We're at the docs waiting for her weekly treatment now, so I showed her your post. Thank you so much, my brother.

    Country Club Sweet Water AS

This morning I had the best shave yet with this setup. I started with a wetter than normal brush and loaded for about 30 seconds. I built up the lather in the scuttle a little bit and then painted it on. I ended up with a warm, shiny, somewhat runny, lather that felt so great on my face. The razor glided around like it was on ice. After my normal three passes I was greeted by the baby! Feeling the need for some menthol after my nice was shave I applied some Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB followed up with a healthy splash of the Sweet Water AS. Let the countdown to the weekend begin!

    Hump day!
