Y'know, you aren't alone. I've been called "Bob" John" Tom"-the thinking must be that those names SOUND like Paul and are MORE COMMON THAN Paul. Well, it was my paternal grandfather's name and I'm proud of it. But thanks again for that shave advice. I must say I am not much of an ATG man, but it could well be time to learn to get used to it. :).

Thanks, Danny! I shave without my glasses so a visual mishap does happen, but it is a rare occasion.

You are welcome, Paul! My straight shaving has forced me to know what's the best way to shave with the least anount of passes. When I first started, I was a 3 passer plus doing minor touchups. Now, I am a 2 passer and sometimes do minor touchups if I want a BBS shave. I got there by experimenting with different shaving directions based on beard mapping and doing "unconventional strokes". My point is when any shaver still has an area that was missed, then he must find a different direction to hit it just right. Too often, shavers will just go true north, true south, true east and true west when shaving and that's it. Facial and neck hair always doesn't grow that way and then it is necessary to have the razor head slant at the 30 - 45 degree angle as you shave up, down or sideways. Sometimes, you have to do all 3 strokes of WTG, ATG and XTG at those angles to clear the troublesome areas.

Barrister and Mann Bay Rum~~Mondial 26mm~~Barbasol Floating Head~~Meehan Bay Rhum
Couldn't keep my fan club waiting, so I am debuting my just-acquired Barbasol FH.
I have seen these being featured quite frequently on this thread, but have always had a
"fascination" with them. Does the head really "float" :signs002:

I think the Mühle R41 took a page out of the BFH playbook, especially with the scalloped SB.
But that's the only similarity, as the shave with the BFH is quite smooth and blade
    exposure doesn't compare.
    Let's take a look at today's lather:

I achieved a super-shiny and stabile lather with the B&M and the Mondial.
I did bloom the soap whilst showering. Sorry you anti-bloomists. (Not
    really)
    Wonderful microfoam and slickness.
Loading up a Gillette Silver Blue (day 2), I noticed right away that the BFH holds the blade
    centered and quite tightly.
Angle was easy to find and maintain. My only issue with this razor is its weight.
I haven't put it on a scale, but it's quite hefty. The majority of the weight, of course,
is in the beefy handle. Good knurling allows for a good grip.
I was even able to knock down 99% of the pesky neck stubble, which I can never get
with any of my straight razors.
I am going to focus on this razor for the time-being, using some different blades.
The Meehan Bay Rhum really smells great and has a nice tingle.

No shave for me today. I'm planning on an early SRX shave in the morning before we leave for an overnight Sunday School class retreat. The Travel Tech is on deck for Saturday morning. This will be my first-ever full shave with a Gillette Tech. So far, this little guy has only been used to edge my sideburns and touch up my chin and mouth area.

Here's one of my all-time favorite watches. I've had the pleasure of owning several of them. Sadly, I sold them when I was younger and could afford to have only one watch at a time. You can hear the hum of the tuning fork when you put the watch against your ear. Super cool.

I hope you all have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Fantastic looking shave, Bill! The Central Valley is experiencing it's pseudo-spring (it hit 80 degrees here yesterday and will continue to do so for the rest of the week), so Island Man seems like the perfect software for here. :D

I'm taking the Variant out for another spin on Saturday with a Feather blade to see what happens. :)

I'd probably have picked up a Fatboy by now if I came across one reasonable.

Sometime back I strolled through a antique mall. Guy had one on display for $75 and a Toggle for $450. I think he was trying to retire............ the next day.

You can find them on Ebay. The ones in mint condition are pricey, but you can get a user grade razor for a reasonable price.

A gorgeous green shave, Gary. Spring allergies have kicked in somewhat, and a Eucalyptus Menthol shave sounds about as wonderful as anything can. Hope you kick that cold to the curb! :D

Feather is my go-to DE blade, except in shavettes where GSB reigns.

Lots of snow here over the last week or so. This is probably my last shave for February. These tools worked well throughout the month. I'll probably do another rule next month.
