After another skipped night I'm back at it. Too many things swirling around to keep me on track the past few days but I'm getting there. Time to rotate razors so I'm off to one of my absolute favs to wrap up February Favorites. It is, of course, Matthew the haunted Gillette New SC Deluxe. With a fresh plate job and a Voskhod on board this thing should be amazing as always. I chose the Stirling Sheep to get some mutton tallow love, and used the new I*V from the raffle with the hybrid knot. Since I dubbed the first hybrid I got the "Moreau", after Dr. Moreau, obviously, this one has earned the nickname of Moreau's faithful assistant, Montgomery. It made a lather so easily it was almost embarassing.

Three passes was all it took for an amazing smooth and BBS quality shave. The Sheep definitely keeps things slick and cushy, and the razor and blade combination were smooth and effective as they should be. Great shave with great gear! Two more days in February!! It's been another incredible month. For those wondering about March - well - get those shavettes ready if you want to join in that way as March Madness returns!! I won't be opening up March as our own glorious founder and Mighty Favog, Chris @Bama Samurai , will be returning to the duties of post one for the next month. I can't wait to see what he has up his sleeve. It's been quite awhile since he opened the month up but I'm sure his wisdom and wit will prevail!

I actually found an early picture of the 30DC in its formation with Chris passing on the wisdom of the Rule to myself while Charlie @wristwatchb sneaked in to listen and plot.

Thanks, Tim. Yes, I have started to make razor stands out of resin. One was a failed brush blank (the green one at the back) and the rest have been me playing with different colour mixes.

I need to pull out some Proraso Green this next month as well, Joe. You are right, it is a nice product.

Interesting thoughts on the FH, Joseph. There are a few different models of Barbasols. If the blade is secure to the top cap and has a gap below to the bottom plate, it is a FH. Other ‘Barbies’ have the blade much closer to the base plate. Regardless, sounds like you got a nice first shave with it.
