Following my first shave with a TTO razor (the Gillette Slim) I went with the Gillette Flair Tip Super Speed (also won in the TSD raffle, graciously donated by @Tommynick).

This happens to be a birth year razor so I figured I would shave close to the way dad did..... Sort of.

When I use canned foam I usually add a little water in a bowl and apply with a brush, (an action that I can thank those dedicated fans of goo blooming stuff for the CT sticker).

I used the beloved Shave Den Spirit of St Louis Limited Edition 2019 meet up brush with the deluxe luxury elite flattop knot, a brush known for finely whipped lather.

Been on the Personna Blue kick trying to use up the sale priced $5/100 pack that many folks love and get great life from, but I have considered a 'one and done' blade.

First pass was sluggish and sticky so I cheated and rubbed a Derby stick on before brushing up the fluff. Brought the glide in perfectly.

Followed my normal shave pattern for perfect results. I am very surprised by this tool. I'll have to do more evaluating, but this shave has this old razor bucking for the top slot. No wonder people like these so much. I can and have used Personna Blues for multiple shaves, but this razor is the first that I felt like I wanted to.

Compared to the Slim, I sensed greater edge feel, more intuitive angle, and superior audible feedback. I'll be looking forward to more experimenting.

Finished up with the Aqua Velva Ice Blue that left me smelling fresh, like dad always did.

Happy Friday everyone. The Trafalgar T3 just ate through the soap whipping up a mountain of rich slick lather. I did add several drops of the B&M Terrorade which chilled things down nicely. Back to the JAWS today. I really like this razor. I somehow missed touching up a small spot on the jawline which let the baby escape. I just wasn't on top of my game this morning. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

Good report, Bill. My '56 Flair tip was one of the best razors I ever used. (sold, sadly)

That's a relief. I have posted threads on two other fora with pictures asking the question whether or not this is a floating head model.

    Barrister and Mann Leviathan~~Simpson 2 "Chubby"~~Barbasol (Floating Head?--TBD)
Where is this year going??? Soon it'll be March.

I have already determined my focus for next month.
    This one's for you, Neal...
    Russian blades.
I have Voskhod, Gillette Silver Blues, Sharp Stars and Gillette Platinums (these haven't yet arrived).
Naturally, I will be using my DE razors, of which I will continue with the Barbasol.
AND, Russian Vodka will be my only distilled beverage. :eatdrink047:
Took the Leviathan for a spin today. You know, I really like this soap base.
I am not a fan of the Reserve. I have the lavender and while it smells great, the consistency
    is a major turn-off. :rolleyes005:
Dr. Mrs. Primo didn't comment on the scent...so this product failed to receive the coveted
SWMBOSOA©, it didn't get the "what is that smell" award either.
    I call that a win.
Third shave with the Gillette Silver Blue and it is still smooth, but not sure it's sharp enough.
I'll give it another go tomorrow, but then it's Proshchay.
It was brought to my attention, that this Barbasol may not be the "floating head" model.
Got me thinking, so I have posted a thread on a few fora and asking for opinions.
    Update to follow.
Believe it or not, I am making progress with my first article. I was awake at 4:45am and
    the juices were flowing. :chores016:

Edit: After some research and questions on other Fora, it has been determined that this razor is indeed a Floating Head razor.

Alabama awesomeness was abound in the den this morning. The ATT Atlas with the R2 aluminum base plate and a Feather is a sweet combo. The MWF was in its glory this morning. Hope everyone has a great shave today and an even better weekend.
