Minus the minuscule, disappearing weepers, sounds like a really good maiden voyage, Joe. 2 passes, BBS, & no irritation is a win to me--blood or no ;)

pretty much the same as a regular superspeed.remember TTT..the only real difference in any of these gillettes is angle of attack, blade reveal, and how they clamp/secure the blade.the weight plays a small part.if you ride just off the cap (safety guard not touching the face) aka sweet spot, they all feel very similar with similar results.some gillettes like the tech have a narrower gap resulting in what appears to be a milder razor, like a blue tip.think of a fatboy/slim on 9 .its got the widest gap- meaning the safety bar is the farthest distance the razor will allow from the edge of the blade..kind of like setting your lawn mower to cut taller/thicker grass with the wheel adjusters.dial your blade angle in using the cap as the guide and bingo.the razor is just the blade holder..

Thanks, Jim! I look at it in this light. This razor just adds another dimension to my shaving acumen.

Thanks Tim! This razor has a different angle than what I have experienced with my DE razors. I just have to do a mini-focus with it some time this year. My diagnosis is to do shorter strokes, ease on the pressure and get the angle down on every part of my face especially on the ATG pass.

    Week 4 (Anything Goes)
Feb. 28 Episode 27: “Nature’s First Green is Gold...”

    MMOC
My last official ‘Dead is Dead’ shave of the month. I wanted it to end greenly, so I was somewhat concerned when I picked up my den’s most potentially bloody razor...

    1.jpeg

    Week 4, Day 7 Gear
    • Blade: Gem SS (2)
    • Brush: Kong
    • Soap: Soap Commander “Drive”
    • Enhancements: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented.
    The Shave
I was playing nice with the MMOC today and rode the cap erring a bit on the side of caution at the expense of efficiency. The 1st pass (WTG) was very smooth and pleasant. No issues.

2nd (XTG) was also very nice, but I was left with a bit more stubble than I’m used to with the MMOC. Wanting to end bloodless today, I was just going to call it good, but then my inner voice said, “C’mon, Nancy… go for the 3rd!” My inner voice is a bit of a jerk...

And frequently gets me into trouble. The 3rd pass (ATG) went pretty well, though I did catch myself chasing. I ended that jive right quick. Good enough is good enough. Ended up with a bloodless BBS/DFS, with some very slight irritation along the chin… winner!

    Score
    • Comfort: 4
    • Closeness: 4

Green with the MMOC pretty much wipes out all the red before it. Great shave Tim!
