Hey you guys! sorry I've been busy the last few days. I just put up a thread about it but I also wanted to mention here because I know a few of us have been personally affected by the disease, I'm doing an alzheimer's walk and I'm trying to raise $100 for it. If you'd like to help out I put a link in the thread ^^

Other than having no internet, I actually slept a lot this weekend. Drove out to Western Massachusetts (about 5 miles from the MA/NY border), caught a concert at 10:30 AM, got lost for two hours because the directions we had were wrong, finally got to the motel, got lunch, and took a nap.

Seeing as I've started recounting my weekend, I'll just continue. After I fell asleep, the girlfriend fell asleep. I woke up before the next concert (thank goodness). We headed out to Tanglewood (should be a 20-25 minute drive) 55 minutes before the concert. We ended up reaching ten minutes late. Traffic was at a snail's pace once we got close to the hall. All the parking lots save one were full. The first piece being played was one of my favorites of the evening (Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn) so the girlfriend gave me my ticket and told me to run to the stage if I'd like and she'd meet up with me. Well... it's really muggy out there and we were in a parking lot that was unpaved (think grassy field). While running, both of my feet slipped and I landed straight on my back. I was soaking wet but continued running. Caught the second half of the piece (it's only 15 minutes long) at least and ended up buying a new shirt at the gift store during intermission. I pulled the wet clothes out of my bag this morning when I got home... man that mud smells awful. Anyway... that concert was awesome. It was James Galway's (flute player) birthday and there were a ton of extras after the concert. Everything from some John Field Nocturnes to an arrangement of Mozart's Turkish March for two flutes and orchestra to the Pink Panther theme to happy birthday to a Cuban fusion band. Really a smashing evening.

Went straight back and conked right out after that. We spent Sunday exploring a few towns nearby, including one town that had a town center that was only two small blocks large. Okay. I'm talking too much. Done.

SUMMARY: I had a great weekend. And slept lots.

    I love peaches.

    Rhubarb. :sick007

    Mmmm. Raspberries. Yum.

    That sounds awesome, Tom.

I love the German and Japanese pens.

Sorry to hear that, Micah. All the best for you and your family.

Hope the back/rest of body gets better.

That sounds like a neat project.

    Hope it goes well.

Speaking of bacon, I picked up a couple of bacon lollipops on my trip. I was told they have real pieces of bacon inside. I'll be sure to report on how they are once I try them.

    How are you doing, Justin?

Not too bad at the moment. I don't know if it was from sleeping on the air mattress for 2 nights, the long driving, or if I hurt something when loading/unloading the car. But my back has been in bad shape today. Lots of excedrin and a back brace have helped. But I can only stand to where the thing for so long. I think I will be sleeping in the recliner tonight.

Any injuries from your fall? Glad to hear you enjoyed the concert!

got some packages in today. Seeing that JoAnna has decreed that she is not part of TSD artisan week, I guess I have to wait until next week to try the wheat Iced Subzero... I forgot what the soap samples look like... Hmmm I want some peanut butter cups..

Hmmm... BBQ Chicken and Bacon pizza? Sounds good. I don't get pizza often enough. Really strange concept if you ask me, but I love Domino's Philly Cheesesteak pizza.

I'll definitely report on the bacon lollipops.

Mmmm. Peanut butter cups. I need dinner.

Best of luck with the back there. Hope the recliner helps. I actually managed to avoid any injury whatsoever from the fall. Thankfully, the ground was extremely squishy and soaked. The mud made me fall, but it also cushioned my fall. I fell flat on my back and didn't actually feel any pain. Got up and kept running while wringing out my shirt intermittently.

I sustained more damage from blueberry picking on Sunday (got attacked by bugs on my wrists and ankles) than from the fall. I'm very glad I didn't sustain any injuries.

Ugh! Best wishes it gets feeling better Justin. I know your pain all too well.

    Hrm... I know the feeling.
I popped one of those Aleve liquidy horse pills after dinner tonight to keep my back from nagging me.
I have what I guess is an old injury to one of the muscles under my right shoulder blade and that flares up after doing things like.. oh.. I don't know... lifting the wheels of my truck back onto the hub after working on the brakes. :think002
