Good stuff, Patrick. I wash my face, apply it with my fingers to wet skin, and work it into my beard really well. Use more than you think you'll need, and I think you'll be pleased with it.

It is very lubricating, but don't expect much of a lather. It has a nice scent and is not drying. My Bride uses it too. We always have it on-hand.

That's actually a really nice first-set-up, set up, Joseph. Beautiful brush handle, too. "Slight scent of ash tray"...

Your secret is safe with me. If Dr. Mrs. Primo cuts you off, I'll no longer be able to 'oooo' and 'ah' over some really fine gear. I like 'ooo'-ing and 'ah'-ing.

 

Probably also for a certain kind of adept too. I'm mire likely to follow it now than I will be a month from now when I start feeling confident--stupid hubris!

Nice 'retro' shave, Joseph. In general, I prefer most all of the St. Petes Gillettes to those Rapiras. I do try not to upset the cartel, however. The Sharp Stars are very sharp, though, no question.

I'm not really concerned with what someone else does with their own money. I'm not their guardian.

I've spent way more than necessary to just cut my own facial hair. I enjoy this thing we do as a hobby. I hope not to be placed under judgment for having a dozen nice straight razors, when one $5 blade holder is all I need. And why should I have such a variety of soaps when $2 in shave sticks would last me a year. And so on......

Those things folks msy have that won't be used in their own lives will have the potential to be 'New, old stock' goods that some shave enthusiast in a future generation might enjoy.

I can imagine the thrill some budding new wetshaver in 2080 could have opening up a bottle of Satsuma I didn't get to use. Or how about finding an unused bottle of Blood on Steel 2019 he loved, then digging a little to find us right here carrying on the way we do!

I say, 'Let them buy blades if they wsnt'!

Cartel HQ also likes GSB. Just not quite as much as Voskhod. But we're talking a difference that can barely be measured, if at all.

 

This is a judgement free zone. Wanna have a dozen nice straights? Hey, why not two dozen? "It's your shave - enjoy it" also leads to "It's your den - enjoy it!" Of course, consider the source. Still trying to make sure I don't run out of blades by the end of the century. Or razors. Or soaps......brushes.....yeah well, nobody really believed we'd save money, right?

 

It was Voskhod that brought us into contact long ago.

Yes it was. And, along with the Voskhods you sent, you included some GSB with the understanding that I would use the Voskhod for that very first Rule, then use GSB and write a comparison between the two. You never forget your first "meeting of great minds". Or, at least "hey we talked to each other and we're ok" moment.

I probably forgot to say that if there aren't any people hoarding blades, who am I gonna make fun of?.......
...... the guy that that bought so much Tsuka on one order that Rod's door caved in when the shipment went out?

 

I think sometimes people may not understand my stance on blades.

When I was new, there were many awful blades. Now, there are few.

I do have a fave DE blade, and it is Gillette Silver Blue. They've been very consistent quality, and are sharp and smooth. This doesn't mean that I think it's "the best" or anything like that. But I can say that once I really mastered DE technique, it became easier to explain why I liked it.
