Wow, that's a long time, Neal! I used to change my facial hair to beards, goats, Van Dykes and only moustaches. I couldn't keep the same style for that long.

    Very refreshing shave Andrew!
If you find you are getting irritation in an area Tim , maybe just stick to 1 pass with shavette and clean up with DE. Another thing is to maybe give it a day of rest . The skin stretching is the most important thing to remember especially on areas that aren't as flat as others .
You are making progress so dont rush yourself into going too fast and giving yourself a setback from a hasty setdown or wrong angle approach with your opposite hand . You have lots of 'time ' to master this if you are going for 100 shaves . I may also join you for 100 to help you along the way as best as I can . I'm definitely not a master of the shavette but am just saying what works for me . Hope it helps you in some way!

Tim, very fine second shave! In the beginning, you will find that you will have inconsistencies from one shave to the next! You are ahead of the game because you haven't seriously cut yourself. I have read stories about new shaveteers cutting themselves badly in the beginning so you are doing well. Remember, you will eventually be very proficient in due time. Enjoy this journey and embrace the good and the average shaves because you will learn from each and every one. I am proud of you. You're doing great!

Great shave Tim! You might want to try muting the corners of the blade a little, just a thought.

    March 2
    Good afternoon fellas
    Shavette shave #143
    Parker SRB
    Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (5)
    JR Silvertip Badger #386
    Stirling Spice SS and AS
    Nivea ASB
I couldn't wait to get home from work to get my new Jayaruh brush! I got home and opened the package and I was like wow! Right then and there, I knew that I had to shave ASAP to try it out. First, this Stirling Spice has an amazing scent and I should use it more, but hey, I have too many soaps to choose. Ok, bring it on! Lambaste me and roast me on an open fire for that soapy comment. Lol! Seriously, I used this brush to whip up a nice lather, but it took a little longer. I think it's because I used it without breaking it in. Anyway, it is my first silvertip and it has a nice backbone so it isn't floppy. That's the way I like my brushes. This is the 5th shave with the Parker SRB and I have to say this is truly an easy and effortless shaver. I am on autopilot with this razor, and I think it's due to my Dovo shavette experience and the "foolproof" geometry of the razor. Whatever the reason, I find shaving with this shavette to be as easy as apple pie. I am going to use this shavette for a headshave later in the week. I did 2.5 passes and got an IBSS (VBSS) shave without any irritation and without any blood loss. Applied the matching AS and the Nivea ASB to this fantastic. My skin really looks great and I smell nice. That's a great combo! Have a nice afternoon guys! 20200302_144337.jpg 20200302_144337.jpg

That was true for me waaay back when I purchased my first shavesoap....Stoylin Barbershop. And now here I am pondering my move toward a Bill Neumann product. In between, there's been a lot of $$$ spent.

Thank you, Andrew! Jim (Jayaruh) did an awesome job! The bristles are blooming nicely after just one shave! The price was reasonable and the craftsmanship superb!
