yeah, the micro USB was the agreed upon standard...we'll see how long that lasts not that I'm being cynical or skeptical or anything it is definitely a good thing, though, for the consumers the Pre is an all around awesome device, but like almost all things tech, I'll wait for at least the 2nd gen to come around before I consider buying. besides, I still have 1.5 years on this contract before I can change, and that'll give All-Rizon enough time to get the Pre...if something more awesomer doesn't come along before then. I will say I love this LG EnV touch, though!
IIRC..... you can thank China for that standardization (maybe it was another Asian country). All cell phones made/sold in the country have to have the same charger... For a while it looked like everything was going to go mini-usb but now it has gone micro-usb instead. Great... so now you smell super sweet too? You better start running before the rest of them find out. My back injury is gonna keep me here so at least I won't be chasing. C2 Repeater was a good shave and will probably be my travel razor. However, I don't like to travel with anything that I don't have a backup of. So, I guess I will be on the lookout for another one. But not for a while... gotta let razor purchases slide under the radar. My Paypal has been empty for a while now... It is funny that I have the Schick to travel with now that I got those Autostrop cofffin boxes to pack razors in to travel. Oh Well...
I'm in the same boat. I've got a year and a half left on Verizon where I'm either stuck or stuck paying an ETF to get outta the contract. It's not a huge problem right now just because I like my Storm, for the most part, and with the exception of the Pre, there's no other phone out that I'd like to have. Supposedly, the Pre or a WebOS phone will be hitting Verizon in the first quarter of next year. That'll give them about a year to knock out the problems.
some things are great ideas in theory, but when brought into reality are not so great an idea.... this might be an exception to that rule (guys only; gals may disagree...) but seriously, who comes up with this crap?
I'm thinking the same thing... oh, and you're post earlier on the aftermarket IC kits and skins got me to searching.... they now have skins for iphone and itouch, a universal adapter, and a power disk for lg and samsung (who have adapted the micro usb standard already)...that almost defeats the purpose as you still have to plug the disk in, but it's still cool WildCharge
Same company I have a link for, and same thoughts so far. I'd do the skin thing because I've got the protective skin thing already, so adding the inductive charging is just a bonus. But a disk? What's the point? If I've gotta plug something in, might as well be the dock I already have. At least it goes with my phone and looks integrated, unlike the stupid puck.
