I think decanting it helps take away the scent that some folks are put off by. To me it tones it down and softens the smell. After decanting it for a while it has more if a nice powdery smell.

Time improves these things.

The upper neck, just under the jawline, side to center ATG stroke eludes me still with open edge. While it is so easy to pick up a safety to clean that up, I don't. I do find days I get almost as close just going n/s & s/n.

What's important is a gentle accurate touch and no irritation.

 

i agree,wife loves it....quite a difference..wish i could find an original glass bottle..hopefully one day..

I couldn't follow all of today's posts about Napoleon, French history, etc. It's just not my thing. I'm glad to know there are simple folk like us here who enjoy fine literature.

i scored an old woodbury aftershave bottle with a bakelite cap..may be the next clubman decant..

 

I do it without mirrors and by feel regardless of the razor. Also, I do it very carefully!
