Even though its Saturday, I will be working today. I have a meeting with a client. At least I was able to get in a nice walk with Mocha and a relaxing shave. The bowl, brush and shave cream were gifts from my wife. She picked up the brush and cream while she was in London. The brush is floppy so I decided to bowl lather and added in several drops of B&M Terrorade to cool things off a bit. Three passes had the baby in sight but it took a lot of buffing to catch the little guy. The blade is tired after 7 shaves which is good since I am ready to move onto another razor. A splash of my rarely used Floid Blue and I am to work. At least the client is near my Mom so we can grab a early dinner. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

The afternoon sun was shining bright yesterday when I took the picture.

 

Some friends on other sites are saying Glycerin soap’s are a no-no for the dome, but have not explained why. Still, if that first lather doesn’t work, then it’s back to my old faithful MWF.

 

That is one gorgeous brush handle, Joe! Jim makes one heck of a brush! Glad your shave went well!

I don't think finding a bellied hollow is rare, many full or extra hollow grinds leave a belly by the nature of the process.

My Dovo Best Quality does. Certainly not as pronounced as some or the exhibits, but still there.

When you get a chance, pull your 'Dovo Best' out and hold the back side up so the light is glancing off it. You should see it. Or by carefully pinching in the upper part of the grind and drawing fingertips to off the edge it can even be felt.

Even my Chinese ZY has a belly.

I hone them the same.

thank you Jeff..my belmont is a new deluxe with a long blade retention slot in the base plate.the new standard has 2 pins that holds the blade.the brit belmont also only breaks down into 2 pieces not 3..
